TRULY DELECTABLE CREPES IN BEVERLY HILLS!
I'm already on record here in the Yelposphere as a TOTAL SUCKER for crepes. So when a new crepe spot opened just around the corner from home base, how could I resist? And my exploration was well rewarded. Creme del la Crepe is fantastic! Only question now is: Why did I wait so long?
GREAT FOOD Wifey and I took junior for an early lunch on Saturday. We had the Farmer (goat cheese, asparagus, spinach, walnuts, avocado & tomato) and Gauloise (cinnamon baked apples & brown sugar topped with toasted almonds) crepes respectively. Both were delicious (Wifey complained there could have been a tad more goat cheese -- but she always complains about something ;-) And the generous portions were more than ample enough for us to give junior a slice of each of ours and fill our three of our bellies.
EXCELLENT SERVICE & LOVELY DECOR The tag team waiters were incredibly friendly and thoughtful (and apparently, judging by the accent, authentically French, which charmed the missus too). They offered junior crayons and place mat to draw on, as well as an impromptu French lesson. Also, they kept the coffee, a fabulous French roast flowing, with whole fresh cups (not "warm up" refills). A very nice gesture, considering the pricey $3 price tag (but I guess that's what a cup of coffee goes for just about everywhere these days, huh?).
The obviously new interior is gorgeous, done in a modern style, but with shades of country French flair.
CONVENIENT LOCATION Situated on Olympic, just west of Doheny in the same retail strip as Crazy Fish, it's an easy, convenient spot that's walkable south Bev Hills and Bev Hills adjacent dwellers. As locals, we're always on the lookout for tasty and affordable eateries, and this definitely qualifies as both!
AND BEST OF ALL... If you can't walk it...never fear. They've got FREE PARKING in a lot behind the building. And as any area resident knows, that's a HUGE plus.
We'll definitely go again and...
Read moreIt's pretty expensive, but everything is expensive in this area. I have to give it 5 stars as the food is wonderful, the people who work there are kind and the decor/ambiance is great. Even the bathrooms have a nice warm vibe. The mussels and fries were amazing as were the different crepes. Even the omelette was great. The restaurant prides itself on housemade sauces and ingredients and it shows. I would highly recommend stopping by. Note that it seems like the entire menu is available all day which is really cool. They have parking out back, so don't try to park in front in the 20...
Read moreI was taken to Creme de la Crepe for lunch recently. I did not know what to expect and was uncertain about some of the menu choices. After having eaten and tried a bite of what everyone else had ordered, the food was all amazing. It's fresh and full of flavor, well prepared and beautifully presented. The breakfast and brunch options are so enticing and look delicious. I will certainly be frequenting this restaurant. What a nice change and variety to so many restaurants that just don't stand apart....
