That Boot Store — Local services in Panama City

This review upsets me. I've dealt with the boot store for years. Bought several pairs of RedWings and approximately 9 months ago, I needed a new pair of boots and wanted to try something different. Mind you I had two pairs of RedWings in 10 years working at the papermill. They were awesome boots. I decided on Double H. I work in a warehouse. Nothing like the mill. So the other day I felt a piece of plastic in the right heel that became delaminated and was digging into my ankle. I called up the boot store,told them what was going on and was told it was a manufacturing defect,bring them in and we will warranty them for you. Awesome. Perfect. They are amazing.

Get to the boot store, was faced with a bit of attitude. "Well....how do you take them off"? I replied,well I use the wooden boot remover thing I bought from you. She replied "I ask because you just removed them with your heel". Well yeah, I don't bring my boot remover with me.

We get to the register. She has a very nice shorter lady looked them over. She was like OMG that hurts my hand. I said yeah it hurts my foot. The original lady looks me up in the computer.....well you bought these 9 months ago. I replied yeah I did,you gonna warranty them? Shorter lady's says.....yeah work boots only last 10 months so we can't.

Seriously? You haven't a clue what my job even is and the Redwings lasted about 5 years each. I can't get 9 months out of a pair of 320.00 boots?

If I could give this business 10 stars I would! First and foremost, the store is clean and neat. Everything is organized even though there is a limit on space. The selection is the best I’ve ever seen a boot store have. Every style you can imagine. Prices are fair and every single employee that we came in contact with was friendly and I believe we spoke to everyone working today because they are always walking the floor making sure customers are taken care of. The owner was among them. She was walking around interacting with customers and employees. Honestly if I hadn’t been told who she was, I wouldn’t have known. In my opinion that says a lot about the business. The good morale was really nice to see. One certain employee went above and beyond for us effortlessly. His name is Tyler. He’s a whole 16 years old but boy does he know his stuff! My husband has been searching high and low for a pair of boots that fit him like he needed, for 2 whole years (literally no exaggeration). Tyler jumped right in and spent about 15 minutes with him and found him the perfect fitting boots. Turns out he wasn’t ever formally fitted and he was wearing the wrong size and width. Besides that, he was helpful, polite, knowledgeable and just had drive. Something you don’t see much anymore. Altogether, this business was well worth the visit! This is by far the best shoe store I’ve ever been too! We are from out of town visiting for a vacation, and I start a new job requiring safety toe boots. While here I decided to go ahead and try and find a pair of boots that fit me instead of ordering them online. Well I’ve got to say, you walk into the door and you’re immediately greeted and offered help. They are extremely knowledgeable and even have this super high tech machine to measure your foot perfectly! I was looking for what I thought was my shoe size, and turned out I was looking for the wrong size and they were able to get me fitted with a super comfortable pair of Keen boots. From now on, when I need a nice pair of boots, or anything else like socks and nice leather belts, etc… I will be making the 6 hour drive here. It is totally worth it! 10/10 recommended, you cannot go wrong visiting! They had a extremely wide variety of everything! I loved their belts, but I’m not currently in the market for a belt. And finally, they were so friendly that they threw in a free jar of mink oil to keep my new leather work boots in tip-top shape! Looking forward to doing more business with them...
