This Winn Dixie is always operated in a professional manner that sets it apart from most others you might visit.

In addition to an exemplary management team, the supporting team members seem to excel above peers as well.

From bakery to deli, from cashier to pharmacy, from stockers to meat & seafood counter staff and from building maintenance to cart and bag assistance, all team members are courteous and polite and eager and able to assist with an obvious understanding of their perspective areas.

It's like watching a well choreographed water ballet, a slinky traveling a flight of stairs or peering into a glass clock. When everything works well together, it just works better.

The store is very clean and is always tidy and well stocked. It is located on Hwy 231 as you are entering Panama City and Panama City Beach, FL. (Yes, two different places and if you are just visiting for the first time, you might enjoy experiencing the very different cultures separated only by the beautiful bays).

Because the store is "on the way", it's a great place to stock up on cold drinks, snacks, hot deli dishes, ice, and a variety of other beach supplies.

The liquor store has a large selection of shark repellants at reasonable prices. Please repel sharks responsibly.

Pro Tip' When bagging for the beach or bays, buy waterproof sun screen and put it on in the parking lot at the store. Put it on everybody...twice. Then repeat when you arrive at beach.

It will save a ton of misery for all and is a great way to get a feel for any new members of your group that you may want to feel better.

Pro Tip' When you stop at WD on your way to the beach, grab a bottle or two (B1G1...wink, wink) of plain white vinegar and keep it with you at the ready.

Should anyone in the group get stung by one of the many types of Jellyfish in our local coastal waters, liberally pour over the area that is stinging. It will relieve the sting quickly and effectively.

Bonus Pro Tip'....It's a great place to get fried chicken for the beach at reasonable prices.

I’m a regular customer at the 231 Hwy Panama City store and have always had positive experiences—most of the staff are friendly and helpful. However, during my visit today, I had a disappointing interaction at the customer service desk. I had a question about the digital coupons and approached an employee for help. Unfortunately, the individual I spoke with seemed unwilling to assist. He couldn’t explain how the app works and reacted with an unpleasant facial expression when I asked for guidance. He told me he wouldn’t touch my phone—which I understand—but the way he said it made me feel uncomfortable and even disrespected, as if I were unclean.

It was upsetting, especially since every other staff member I've encountered there has always been great. I hope this was just a one-off situation, as I’d hate to see the store’s good reputation affected by this kind of...

It's definitely a good place to go for groceries and medications. The store still looks good and clean since it was remodel after hurricane Michael. The liquor store is a good stop too. Sometimes they keep the high dollar liquors on hand, like $100 plus high dollar, but they keep plenty of the average priced liquors as well. With a good selection, good prices, and sometimes big savings on the different products, it's worth stopping in, if you're looking for something. An example is, for a while, they had a type of vodka on sale, saved $8 a bottle. Average savings is usually $5 a bottle when something is on sale.
