I love the NAC. I used to be a volunteer there for years. They were a regular life along with enjoying the outdoor activities Park City offers. Then the last two years I was hit with mounting health issues. I tried find any solution I could to fight them. Anxiety and depression over my health problems started becoming a constant. Then I was invited for an initial evaluation with the equestrian program after my case was reviewed. I have always had a love of horses and the first lesson I had as a client brought about tears and so much gratitude that I was able to ride a horse again along with seeing the NAC staff. During my time as a volunteer it was easy to see why the NAC is the gold standard, not only in adaptive programs but also as a stellar example of how they care for their equines. Having experienced it from the perspective as a client has not only confirmed my opinion about the NAC and deepened my appreciation for everyone that makes this organization so important. This stage of my life has been incredibly difficult with a complete change in lifestyle and sometimes support is not there when you need it the most. The NAC has been a wonderful support during...
Read moreI want to start by saying I really agree with what the NAC does. It's very important to include people with disabilities in sports, and this center TRIES to do a good job with it. I was told pretty immediately that they only accomodations are for permanent disabilities. We listened to a talk, about how not to be ableist, and I had to laugh a little bit to myself since the whole institution is indeed ableist, against anything thats seen as "temporary" Along with the temporary physical disability, I have several mental ones. I was told my disability didn't need to be accomodated, and then 20 minutes later had to listen to several people talk about how all disabilities deserve...
Read moreOur experience with the National Ability Center has been nothing short of extraordinary. My daughter absolutely loved every moment she spent there. From the moment she arrived, she was greeted with warmth, kindness, and an incredible sense of belonging.
The counselors were phenomenal—compassionate, encouraging, and truly dedicated to making every camper feel seen and valued. My daughter couldn’t stop talking about how much she loved them and how much fun she had with the friends she made.
Every day felt like a magical adventure. Whether it was outdoor activities, adaptive sports, creative arts, or just laughing and playing with friends, she came home glowing with joy and confidence. The National Ability Center gave her not just memories, but moments of pure happiness and empowerment.
We are beyond grateful for the safe, inclusive, and uplifting space they create for kids of all abilities. This...
