What a fantastic surprise! Decided to turn into this scenic turnoff n was greeted with the most amazing view. We didn't knew we were above the clouds as we had been driving for about 5 hours from Boise. Dress warmly before getting out of the car as the winds are very strong n chilling. There is a look out corner with a shelter where u can take cover. I had to really struggle n yank the car door very, very hard to close it. You will not regret turning off. It is only about 150-200 metres off...

Our final time conquering this pass for a while. It is such a beautiful drive, and the viewpoint has some amazing views. We drove through in September when the wildfires in this area were pretty bad. You can tell by the haze. It is just a viewpoint to stop and rest. No restrooms. A great place for photo ops. It also just a place to watch the big trucks creep up the hill, some of them barely going 5mph. We have at one time been one of them trucks. Drive safe and enjoy...
