Iâve visited these fields a few times over the years and I donât think I will ever return after my last outing there. The staff and refs for the most part are friendly and helpful. However, once a couple local regulars arrived and joined the open play group, thatâs when things took a turn for the worse. The ref of our group seemed to be friends with the locals and let them pick every map we played. Not a huge deal, but we only got to play 3 different maps the entire day, playing multiple times on each of those 3. I usually donât care and just love to play, but when you are spending $90 per case of paint on top of entry fees (not to mention if you donât have your own gear and have to rent) the cost to play is not worth the experience. Then, after playing most of the day on the same maps over and over, the locals apparently told the ref they were going to gang up on my small group of friends. The ref literally pulled us aside before the start of a match and said âHey, I am really sorry but these guys said they are going to go hard and gang up on you, and thereâs nothing I can do about it.â Cool, I donât mind a challenge, but this was clearly a group of locals who belonged to a team of some sort ganging up on open play players and bragging about it. And the refs knowingly just let it happen. Its paintball, so I have seen my fair share of toxic players, but this was a whole new level of toxicity that the refs seemed to encourage and laugh about. To top it off, one of the individuals from that group also stole a pod (dye locklids, not cheap) from one of my group members. My friend knew he dropped a pod on the field and went to retrieve it. He heard one of the local players mention he found it, and approached the player to ask to have it back. They told him they didnât find a pod, after they literally just announced they had found it. At this point, we were so over the day and the refs seemingly not caring about the local regulars being jerks, we just left. Not only are the prices ridiculous at this park, but you also have to worry about refs favoring and catering to their local players they may be friends with. Not the kind of inviting atmosphere you would expect from a paintball facility that is trying to grow the sport. As I mentioned before, I have played these fields multiple times over the years, each time having a similar experience. Refs that allow local regulars to run the games and bully other players. Anyone looking to get into paintball, it is a great sport and typically has a very friendly player base that loves to help new players. If that is the kind of atmosphere you seek to be introduced to paintball, stay far away from White river Paintball, and check out other smaller, cheaper and friendlier fields that donât tolerate players bullying...
Read moreAmazing, Fun, Patient, and Helpful: Pulling up with ten 13 year old, paintball rookie boys, I was a nervous momma seeing mainly older men (20+) decked out in camo looking as if this were a very serious war zone we were about to enter. Momma here was freaking out, thinking what have I just agreed to do with these kids? First off, the staff was amazing! They were all so helpful and patient with these first timers as they were all clueless as to how it all worked. They were respectful, knowledgeable, patient, and most importantly made sure these boys had a fun experience. What impressed me the most though was their customer base (which to me reflects the type of business they are running). These people that I was intimidated by looking like military men ready to go into a war zone against these babies (aka 13 year olds) were so incredibly amazing. They could tell I felt like a fish out of water and jumped in to comfort all of us. They were showing the boys some of their fancy guns, offered to let them hold them, shoot them, it was so heartwarming. (They weâre probably all in their 20s or early 30s, I know they arenât kids, but their parents should be proud.) One in our group got a tad âemotionalâ after the pain/shock from being shot for the first time and they all tried to comfort him. These older individuals (from multiple groups, they werenât all together) took these youngsters under their wings. I have to say I was very impressed by all! The paintball community has won me over. Would definitely recommend white River Paintball and will definitely be a...
Read moreDONT GIVE THEM A BAD REVIEW BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER OR BECAUSE THE SHOWED UP ON GOOGLE FOR INDIANAPOLIS... The only bad reviews they had, had nothing to do with them, their business, or their facility. What kind or person writes a business a bad review because it was too hot to play. Seriously? Who in their right mind writes a bad review because they showed up in google for indianapolis paint ball? That is ridiculous and the problem with reviews.... it allows completely ignorant people the abilitty to express their idiocies. Now for my review....
I have played there over the years andby no means am an expert. They run a first class opperation. The scenario games keep getting better. They focuson safety and making the games fun, fair, and balanced. I take my two boys there, and yes they get shot up. thats part of it, and it toughens them up. they were nervous at first like any kid. But I didnt complain and write a bad review because my kid got shot. If your kid got shot up and it was so tramatic that you had to write and bad review... then your kid probably needs to play more and toughen up. Call the knitting class and cancel the private lessons. It is paintball. It hurts, and often it hurts bad for a few seconds. They run a great opperation there. The staff is friendly and helpfull. the refs are fair. They are a little expensive, but it is the facility that you are paying for. All in all... it is a great facility for family fun, church groups, father and son, and also for advanced players as they try to keep it sorted out. Go...
