Grocery Outlet — Local services in Penn Township

My sister and I visited the Manheim location #705 and we had such a great experience. It was largely in part due to a wonderful employee that we interacted throughout our shopping. We first came upon her while she was stocking produce and she recommended a product my sister was looking at in another department. She was successful in convincing my sister to purchase the product. She chatted with us as we we perusing the area and talked to us about her husband's cat. It was lovely to be acknowledged. Amazing how far that goes to making one feel welcome and we knew if we had any questions we could ask her and she would help. She took over a register and was our cashier when we checked out. She observed that my sister is vegetarian and eats a lot of vegan products. She asked my sister if she had seen the vegan granola bars. She sold us on so much stuff that she deserves a raise! Public safety is not a concern at this location. I entered the store for a quick purchase and encountered at least 7 other customers who were not wearing a mask. Employees dispersed throughout the store did not have masks on either. The male cashier and his friend had masks on but they were wearing them with their nose and mouths exposed. Why bother? This same cashier did not even bother to speak to me as he was too busy conversing with his male co-worker. I will not go out of my way to shop at this location due to the lack of safety measures for COVID-19 and the indifferent employees. Wish my receipt had a phone number on it for a survey. Having shopped at their other locations on and off for years and worked in the grocery industry for years myself, I felt the need to write a review about this business and their new remodel. The open ceilings and decor/layout are great. It feels a lot less crowded than it used to while still having a wide variety of items to choose from. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming each time I've visited and the prices are competitive also. I like to see businesses reinvesting in themselves and their community and Manheim is very lucky to have this business in the community. I would recommend everyone stop in and see how they can help trim your grocery...
