This is a nice fruit and vegetable market with a lot of selections. Keep in mind, that they do NOT accept credit or debit cards. It is Cash only. The clerk there was extremely rude today. My son and I came in today and had some items from the outside. Our hands were full so we put them on the counter. Even though we were the only ones in there at the time she never acknowledged us until I asked questions and then she was just giving a bad attitude to me and a lot of sharp replies. Then someone else comes in and she snaps at me "You need to put your stuff in a basket I need more room to check people out." And points at the small baskets in the corner. My 6'2 son says loud enough for her to her "I'll get you a basket mom"." She then keeps looking at me saying "You have to put you stuff in a basket." I said nicely "I know." She then says it two more times in rapid fire. Then I said loudly "I know that's why my son is getting me one." She says "You don't have to be nasty to me" I said "That wasn't nasty but you already told me three times about the basket. You can see that my son is getting one." Silence for the checkout. I didn't even get everything I wanted. I only purchased one basket for $42. My plans were to purchase three times as much. This situation could have been much more pleasant had the clerk just told me when we came entered that there...
Read moreWe are new to the area. Really liked this store at first, i was greatful they are up the street from us. I was so excited to see all the pretty fall mums. We bought a few last week at $10.99, brought it home, removed the plastic and the mum seemed to split in half, I tried to transplant, the entire root was rotted. Bought a cantaloupe same day, was aweful. We stopped yesterday, got a few nice pumpkins and apples. As we went to pay, we asked to purchase two corn stalks. The lady behind the counter immediately threw up her hands in frustration, rolling her eyes, began to chastise us for not gathering the corn stalks first. Like looking at us as if we were so out of line for not knowing the "rules". Treated us like we were four year olds. We immediately left without purchasing anything. We're all about small business, love to give local support. But this lady was so rude and obnoxious, we won't be returning. It's a shame because it's a lovely set up. A bit suspect that they only accept cash, shady?? The employee was incredibly miserable, I hope somehow kindness...
Read moreThe cashier was friendly and generous (giving me extra food and even giving me back some of my money so I could buy more- basically he gave me more 'freebies' than most people would) and polite and helpful and patient. He gave a sample to my brother to try, too. The food is organic (which is best for your health), and made by the Amish, who have to work hard because they live a more old-fashioned way than we do. Also, it is a cute little market- a family place. My experience was exceptional, and I hope more people will give this...
