Gene's Flooring — Local services in Pensacola

I don’t leave negative reviews ever but this experience has been extremely frustrating.

Chose a carpet 3 weeks ago. Rena was extremely helpful in choosing. The next week they took measurements and scheduled installation for two weeks out. We were scheduled for tomorrow so my husband and I both took the day off, moved all of our furniture including a very heavy bed and 500lb safe into the living room. We spent the day removing popcorn ceiling and painting expecting the new carpet to be installed tomorrow. At nearly 3:30, after working all day we got a call they have the wrong carpet and have to reschedule to NEXT week at least.

I tried explaining our situation and was told to just put everything back and they’ll be here next week. There’s no way we can keep our current carpet absolutely covered in popcorn ceiling unless we pay to have it deep cleaned, the dust from the popcorn ceiling will cover the house. So now we’re having to remove the carpet and we’re sleeping in the living room for the next week.

The fact the wrong carpet came in is no one’s fault but not communicating that until 3pm the day before we’re scheduled?? And no solutions except they’ll see what they can do once the right carpet comes in? If you do choose Genes, don’t rely on scheduled appointments or communication.

Only giving 2 stars because Rena was very helpful when I came in.

**In response to the business’s reply: I acknowledge that delays are out of your control. My frustration was, and is, that no one confirmed the carpet came in until the afternoon before. And that seems to only have happened because of a shipping notification.

Is that something that could be checked the week prior instead of the day prior? We scheduled weeks in advance and the carpet only takes 1 week to ship. A call on Friday could have saved us a weeks worth of hassle and...

We recently had our living room, dining room, kitchen, and hall flooring replaced by Gene’s Floor Coverings and they did a wonderful job! All the old tile was removed and replaced by a beautiful light wood-look luxury vinyl plank. It’s amazing how lighter and brighter and prettier Our home is now.! Jeannie was our showroom consultant and Raymond was the installer and they are both professional and knowledgeable people. We couldn't be happier with our experience with Gene's. The showroom people were so helpful and knowledgeable with all our questions. We picked LVP for house with carpet in the bedrooms and it's gorgeous. The installers, TJ and Tommy, were amazing. The job they did was outstanding, seriously, we didn't see anything but perfection in their work. They cleaned up and did everything right.
