IMPORTANT READ: I had a broken PS5 that needed circuit board repair (Few pads replaced on the board, HDMI replaced, shorted circuit on board) Called 5 repair companies in the Valley, all of them said it cannot be repaired, send to Sony for repair. It is truly a lost identity, trade skill, or craft when we are forced on mainstream repairs to a limited capacity which simply means "parts replacers" at any shop. Anything beyond intermediate repairs requires the customer to send off to manufacturers to charge premiums for refurbished devices, all while they are selling your repaired device to the next customer. To explain further, manufacturers limit capabilities to repair technicians with proprietary software and/or parts, which also reduces training and experience to in field repair centers, allowing corporate companies to reach max value on there products. I called this company and spoke with Stefan, explained my situation, and he assured me that he has the experience to modify, repair, and/or bridge integrated board components if needed. He was right, 1 day later I'm up and running again. A truly highly skilled, expert tactician who understands advanced principles in circuitry. He is the manufacturer repair facility locally, saving you precious time and money. I will absolutely support local businesses who have the determination and experience to help there customers. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had Vista Do 2 console Repairs. First was my 500g PS4. It wasn't reading anything I put in. Game, Blu Ray or DVD... Nothing. Console got taken apart, Cleaned, re thermal paste the CPU and adjustment of the laser. $70. I got the PS4 back and she is working very well. Quieter now because it's running cooler not being littered with years of dust on the inside.
Next I had an old Xbox 1 with the same problem. Wouldn't read anything. Likewise the Xbox got the same treatment taken apart, Cleaned, re thermal paste of the CPU. But the Xbox actually needed a new lazer deck (the whole laser and the arm that moves it around) an extra $10. So $80 cash for the Xbox repair.
$150 total to fix both consoles. I had 2 other shops quote $100 each. So $50 saved vs going elsewhere. About $300 saved if I would have done what most people do and just buy a new ps4 or Xbox 1. Even though the new consoles are out the old ones are still $400 plus new.
The owner is a friendly guy who knows his electronics. He had repaired enough of both consoles that he guessed right even before taking them apart what the issue was. This is always a good sign in my eyes. Experience matters.
The turn around time was 1 full day on both. And the owner didn't mind me waiting a week to pick up the Xbox because I was busy at work. He will be my first call for electronics issues...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbout 6 weeks ago, I dropped my iPhone 6 and shattered the screen so I took it to Vista Tronics due to their proximity to my house and their competitive quote. They installed an OEM screen for $120 but I had to bring it back twice because it didn't work. The technician replaced the screen again and it now seems to be fine. My phone has a protection plan from Square Trade so I needed a receipt from VT to get reimbursed for the repair. I asked for a receipt and VT told me they have no way to provide a receipt. He gave me a hand-written "quote" sheet that said the "estimate" was $120. He said that was the best he could do and Square Trade could "call him". Square Trade (obviously) would not pay the claim without an actual receipt,. I had paid cash for the repair so there was absolutely no way for me to document that the work had been done. Until walking into Vista Tronics, I cannot remember ever encountering a retail business that does not provide receipts for money received or...
