I give ASG a one star rating based on the past experience I had last Saturday 11/10/2018. ASG was having a pump tournament in which I was taking some professional pictures to document the event and help out the local teams. I also have paintball experience so I am aware of the rules of having protective gear. So like usual, I did have my mask and gear on and was constantly going in a out the field to take pictures. The referees knew I was on the field and were completely okay since I wasn't causing any trouble. Nearly to the end of the event, I hear a shout coming from outside the net, I hear the owner Wayne SCREAMING, "MA'AM, MA'AM DO YOU HAVE A WRISTBAND?" I was shocked of the way he was screaming, I turned around and said "no Sir, I am only taking the pictures I'm not one of the players. He then replies furious "GET OUT THE FIELD, YOU CAN NOT BE IN THERE, GET OUT THE FIELD NOWWWW". I froze for a second since I can not believe I am getting screamed in this manner in front of 10 teams, I said "okay", started to get collected my items and walk away. He then starts to scream irrationally at me saying "DIDN'T YOU HEAR ME TO GET OFF THE FIELD, YOU NEED TO START RUNNING, GET OUT NOW" keep in mind I was walking towards the gate with a professional camera which is easily 15 to 20 pounds. He continues "WHO ARE YOU WITH, I AM BANNING YOU AND WHOEVER YOU ARE WITH!!". One of the team members from the team that had invited me said "she is with us" calmly. It doesn't end there, he is still screaming that we need to leave. Not only me, but the team I am with. I was completely furious since the way he was screaming at me was not only humiliating but out of pocket. I walked away because I knew this wasn't the place to have a conversation. At the end of the day, the captain of the team that had invited me approached him in a calmly manner, he then continue to express that because of this incident we were not allowed to be at ASG again. He also expressed he asked me 3 times to get off the field, which isn't true. There were nearly 60 members of the paintball community present which all expressed their disbelief with the situation . I have never been required to pay nor sign a waiver to take pictures at ASG or another field. If this is the rules of the park, I completely understand and respect it. I take full accountability for not reading the rules before entering the park. However, the owner did not give me a chance to speak or to explain I needed to sign a waiver, if this was the case I did not have a problem with signing one. As a person, I did not deserve to be screamed and be little in that manner. As a customer who has played at ASG, I deserved the respect to be pull aside, or at least to be giving a warning. Instead, i was banned and humiliated for coming to this event to take pictures to help the event get recognition and propaganda for it to grow even bigger next year. As a customer, woman, and active member of the paintball community I feel completely disrespected. Wayne took it to a point which it did not need to be taken. There is a way to talk to people. Specially when you representing something as important and precious as your business. As I person who works with the community and in a professional environment I am in disbelief on how Wayne managed this situation. I am completely in shook that he would banned a person and a team, who has not disrespected him or his business without a chance to speak or explain their policies regarding media. I will make sure that my experience at this park is heard. Thank you...

I've been to sc village multiple times, and I've been to action star the same amount. (No I haven't been to jungle, so I can't compare the 3)

Multiple aspects of action star win over sc village. I apologize in advance for the wall of text

Zero waiting time; the games go on with or without you. If you need to leave to refill paint/ air, and come back, you wait for the game to end, and they put you in on the next game. I get double, almost triple(depending on how hot it is) the amount of games in than I do at sc village.

As some have mentioned before, their barbeque around 12/1pm, is actually really good! Not sure if that cheeseburger with a hotdog split in half is for sale for those that aren't working there,(Haven't asked yet), but if it is (along with the other great options they have), I suggest bringing some cash for lunch!

The friendliness on the field: Every time I've gone to sc village, there is some kind of altercation between enemies. That leads to your game being shut down short, and may cause a lot of other issues as well. I've experienced zero "drama" on or off the field while playing at action star. Which leads to number 4....

The biggest shootout to the owner and hiring very cool, honest, and the most proactive refs I've ever seen, in my rec ball career! These guys are seriously the reason why I go back to play at action star. (Especially the tall skinny guy with the shoulder long dreads. Wanted to point you out, specifically.) If I call for a paint check on another or myself, they give zero hesitation to step in and check. They are very aware at people coming out, and let the players know when they are, so there's no extra hits. I've even gotten advice from them(especially the guy with the dreads. I'm sorry, I forget his name.)

If someone lifts up their mask while on the field, they're all over it. My first experience with this almost felt a little over dramatic, but I understand what they're getting at. And hats off to the refs for noticing so quickly! Safety is above all else. (The players are even proactive with this.)

Lastly, on this subject; because the refs are so cool, this lets the players on the field chill a little more too; therefore being less aggressive and starting problems.

The amount of players is perfect and/or spread out to 2 fields. At sc village I play intermediate. On most weekend days, that means there are 60+ others playing that same game. 30 v 30, in my opinion, is not fun at all. I'll save my reasons why in the hopes that most understand.

At the end of the day, the only 2 things I have wrong with action star vs sc village are these:

A. Very little shade: sc village seems to have a bit more shade cover than action star. The only way to combat this is more water and sunscreen.

B. The maps: 80% of the maps at action star are smaller than most sc village maps. If there's a larger group of players at action star, they'll combine 2 of those maps to one. It would be nice to have maps that are a bit more spread out/ with better cover.

That's all I got. Apologies, again, for the long read. I just really enjoy action star.

The guy with the painters pants with paint hand prints...

Great day. First off the manager/owner Wayne - is on his game. Safety is paramount. We had a loose cannon (Mowgli) and after he lifted his face shield for the 2nd time he got bounced for two rounds. He got to listen to the mandatory (entire) 15 minute presentation safety/rules from the beginning. A high velocity paintball to the eye can blind someone for life. I support these strict adherence to safety procedures for everyone. I appreciate that the owner and staff take safety seriously and demand adherence to the standards they've set. If you have a kid (or an adult Mowgli) that cannot follow these rules, then keep them at home. I don't want my 13 year old twins (or Mowgli) walking around with an eye patch because someone can't keep their kids under direct supervision and make them follow imperative safety rules. Wayne went out on the field and played in games. He coached my adult kids and played on teams with them. He also coached my 25 year old son after the game in which he eliminated him (we had a large party of family and friends in regular walk-on, so sometimes we were on opposite teams). STAFF: The best. They take safety seriously; unplug the barrel, shoot outside of the game area, or lift your mask inside the shoot zone....you're going to hear it loud and strong. Get butt-hurt if someone scolds you for not following rules that keep EVERYONE safe? Go somewhere else where safety isn't paramount. I had problems with a new (to me) electric gun and they tried to help. They offer free chest protectors to the ladies and kids if they want them. The Refs even offered gloves to my daughter in law ...free! The REFS were top notch and so on their game. One gave my son a free bottle of water when he was panting. Who does that? So cool. Everyone was helpful and super nice. There are serious tournament people here, but unlike Jungle Island, they aren't allowed to go out and use Newbs for target practice fun. In fact, the serious people are in serious tournaments in the SpeedBall area. If they even come into regular games, they ramp down and are not shooting anywhere near auto like they do on their teams. The tournament players are in their own fields and in their own worlds, but I didn't meet anyone that was cocky or rude really. The owner just doesn't allow nonsense like Jungle Island. I didn't know any better until today. I gave Jungle Island a good review, but seriously, after coming here - I'll never go back. Jungle Island lets tournament level teams go in and hunt Newbs. Not allowed here. Action Star Games is a VERY safe and friendly place for us "once a month" paintballers who are new and getting into the game. Great BBQ and amazing deal $2.00 bacon wrapped hot-dogs with grilled onions. Really tasty and great bargain. I highly recommend this place and this is where we are coming...
