Don't get me wrong they have great fields. But as of tonight I have lost respect for every single employee that works there. My 11 year old brother, who plays baseball games at BLD once a week, is a type 1 diabetic. Every time we go through the gate they check his bag to make sure he doesn't have food or drinks, and he always tells the employees that he's a type 1 diabetic so he has drinks and snacks in his bag for low blood sugars. We have never had a problem with it till tonight. The one lady who checked his bag pulled out his one and only Gatorade, which is only used for emergencies, and told him he could not bring it in. This completely shocked me... he continued to explain its only there for low blood sugars, so she said she would ask her manager if he could still bring it in. She comes back out and tells him he cannot have it and tells my parents it can be held in the office. My dad spoke to the manager and warned him that he was only putting my brothers life in danger, the manager simply told my dad that if a Gatorade is needed he can purchase one at a snack bar. We were playing at the pantucket field so we purchased a Gatorade at the closest snack bar only to find out that they don't have the carbs there and that we would have to walk to the restaurant all the way across the lot. (Which by the way they calculated way wrong and gave us the wrong carbs.) Now there's multiple problems with this, 1) when a diabetic passes out from low blood sugar you only have approximately 12-14 minutes before they go into a coma. 2) taking away a diabetics supplies simply because it's not allowed goes against his legal rights as a diabetic, not even the TSA can take away his juices or water in security at the airport. Putting an 11 year old boys life at risk just to make 2-3 dollars is a bad call Big League Dreams. I recommend you avoid this place at all costs if you have any sort of disability that requires you to have food or...
Read moreGreat place to play ball as long as you do not have kids that want to go to the concession stand for water etc. I play here multiple days a week and what kept me returning was the family environment, that was until October 30th when I had my son go the concession stand for some waters like he always does for him and his siblings. When my son attempted to order said waters a BLD staff member had told him Dam* you cant be that FC*N Thirsty. my son then shocked came back to where we were playing our game told me with tears in his eyes what had happened. When me and my wife asked to speak to a manager we got called liars obviously we were very upset at what had happened. We have since been suspended pending investigation of the situation and actions of us and the BLD Staff. This matter has been handled unprofessionally from the start and I would not recommend that you have your children order things from the concession stands without supervision, I'm just Lucky my son knows right from wrong and had informed me. Very dissatisfied with how they train their staff. BLD seems to hire staff that instead of working in a professional matter seems to be more of a teenager hangout, for their staff to cuss at their loyal customers. No apology has been issued to us rather we are being treated as a type of criminal. Love playing ball here but will most likely not be coming back if this is not fixed, we will also be contacting their corporate office. Its a shame because I have 6 children that I spend allot on at BLD every week multiple times a week and they LOVE...
Read moreThis is probably the best BLD is socal, but I was not allowed to take in my small cooler full of only water. I asked," So I have to drink hot water?" His response, " I guess so." While playing in the tournament I saw numerous of other people with personal coolers with outside food and drinks. I let that go and leave my cooler in the car and run to my car parked in the back part of the parking lot in between games for refreshing water. Coming back into the stadium the young lady asked to look inside my backpack with my softball gear I said agreed and opened my bad for her. She then proto stick her hand INTO MY BAG TO MOVE MY PURSE TO SEE WHAT WAS UNDERNEATH!!!! I was taken back that she took it upon herself to move my things to only see my give and cleats at the bottom on my bag. I was not aware that they can move the items inside my bag. I was under the impression that they should ask for me to move whatever so they can see underneath. Those 2 things...
