Tagge's Famous Fruit and Veggie Farms — Local services in Perry

Last Saturday I bought a jar of peach preserves at their Farmer’s Market stand and had it home within a couple hours- opened it and got a tiny POP! and found half the top layer covered with thick mold! I emailed through their site but no response so I called their number listed on the internet and got a gentleman who was kind enough but seemed pretty unconcerned about my experience. Pretty much a “it happens but rarely “ dry response. I guess when an experience involves potential serious health risk , there should be a little more concern in the tone. He advised me to drive 20 miles for refund or swap- no thanks to that suggestion! Then said ok we can Venmo you. I don’t do Venmo- I did but was compromised (having trust issues these days and moldy jam and Venmo are validating them). So then I said I guess I can swing by the Farmers Market for a refund. Anyway, just wanted to put this out there as an FYI. UPDATE: the gentleman called me back and arranged a meetup to pick it up and give a full refund....

They had a great selection, but when I went over to the grill area where they serve the parfaits, I asked if they were open and the teenage girl working at the counter rudely replied "Uh. Yeah?" I was asking an honest question because there was no one ordering from this counter and it was my first time in.That deterred me from ordering anything immediately and I turned around and went to purchase the peaches at the other counter. The girl working the register here was definitely more polite and friendly, but I still left feeling uncomfortable and like a nuisance. Please train your workers on customer service. Being polite and kind goes a long way, especially in the world we are...

This is one of my very favorite places to visit. They carry the Windmill Farms Raspberry Jam I had been looking for. Slowly the labels are being changed to reflect their ownership as Tagge's. I was able to talk to the owner and he even offered to ship jam to my home 2 1/2 hours away for a very resealable price. They have so many different homemade jams and preserves it is mind boggling. They also carry fresh fruit and vegetables. The employees are always smiling and pleasant too. Stop and visit this place. You won't be sorry and I guarantee you will want to go back over...
