I’ve trained in many gyms, but Performance H&F stands out as the biggest and most well-equipped facility I’ve ever experienced. Whether you’re into bodybuilding, powerlifting, functional training, or general fitness, this place has everything you could need.
Equipment & Quality
The variety and quality of the equipment here are unmatched. They have an extensive selection of: ✔ Free weights. ✔ Multiple squat racks, benches, and deadlift platforms—never have to wait too long. ✔ Machines for every muscle group, including variations I rarely see elsewhere. ✔ Specialty bars, resistance bands, and cable stations with multiple attachments. ✔ A large turf area for functional training, sled pushes, and battle ropes.
Everything is well-maintained.
Space & Layout
The gym is massive, and despite being busy at peak hours, it never feels overly crowded. The layout is smart, with dedicated sections for different types of training—free weights, machines, cardio, and functional areas—so people aren’t stepping over each other.
Atmosphere & Community
The energy in this gym is top-tier. Most people here are serious about training, which creates a motivating environment. There’s a good mix of bodybuilders, powerlifters, and regular gym-goers, and everyone seems focused. No unnecessary distractions or people just taking selfies in front of the mirror.
Staff & Trainers
The staff is professional and always ready to help. The trainers seem knowledgeable and engaged, actually paying attention to their clients rather than just being on their phones.
Extras & Amenities
✔ Recovery options – Sauna. ✔ Smoothie & supplement bar – A solid selection of protein shakes, pre-workouts, and post-workout meals. ✔ Locker rooms & showers – Always clean and well-maintained. ✔ 24/7 access – Huge plus if you have a busy schedule.
Overall Verdict
If you’re looking for a gym that has everything—space, equipment variety, a serious training atmosphere, and great amenities—Performance H&F is unbeatable. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced lifter, you’ll find everything...
Read moreAwful. My boyfriend went to check out this gym when he first moved to the area. He filled out a contract and was told that they would keep it on file so if he choice to go to that gym he wouldn't have to refill out the form and if he did come back that day he would be charged.
The following mouth he was charged and did not even step foot back into the gym. He called, he then thought everything was resolved.
A few months go by has was charged again. We recently called we again explained to them the situation and they said it you filled out a contract so we will still charge you. After explaining the worker just kept saying contract, contract. Not even ignolging the fact that an employee wrongly informed a poteinal customer and honoring that. Awful customer service.
I would suggest saving yourself money and instead of paying 53 a month for a gym to drive the 12 miles to Milford and pay 10 or 20 for a membership at the fitlab that...
Read moreSince this gym got new owners about a year or so ago the turnaround has been amazing. Some of the equipment has been updated, nicely compartmentalized and with the new 24hr access, it provides greater flexibility. In a smaller community like this that 24hr availability is a Godsend. It's owners are friendly and fair who provide a clean, solid place to work out. Concerns are met with swiftly providing for a comfortable pressure-free environment. They have weekly group session workouts that are free and other classes as well. I haven't taken any of those but they seem to be popular. If your looking for a safe, supportive local place to...
