I took my mom out for an afternoon of catching up, shopping and of course, some yummy food. Her options are fairly different where she lives in TN so I love to spoil her whenever she's up this way. A few of her favs are Bar One, Thai Time and The Taco Spot but we were out in a different area this time and our route was taking us right by the Petersham Country Store so we made that our lunch spot.
Right as you walk in, the delicious smells enter your nasal passages and I knew this was going to be a tasty experience. The place is super cute, classic NE country store with a lovely variety of products and lots of stuff for the kids.
The menu is small but has some excellent options. I was excited to find out that they had a gluten free option for their sandwiches even though it's often a let down. I went with the Mango Curry Chicken Salad Sandwich (on GF bread) and a cup of the Seafood Chowder. My mom went with a burrito 🌯 (I don't recall which one exactly). It was good but a bit different on the flavor profile and just didn't line up with my buds. I'm sure others would really enjoy it.
The staff was also very pleasant and friendly and the fireplace burning in the back by the seating area was a toasty touch we both appreciated. Next time my travels take me to this area, I'll definitely be back for...

A lovely little store tucked in a quaint New England town. Has both the feel of yesteryear plus a modern inclusive vibe. there's all kind of cool stuff including books by local authors as well as books on the area. there are locally crafted products of all kinds. the back has a section of wooden and other toys, knitted items and kitchy home decor. there is breakfast and lunch fair with vegetarian options....coffee and beverages and giant cookies.. there's a seating area with reading materials that has a nice cafe feel. there's a bulletin board full of busines cards, odd jobbers stuff for sale and cool event type stuff. there's always a local yapping about something..so that can be entertaining. there are frozen take home dinners and soups, homemade ice cream, local maple syrup and honey. it doesn't hurt that it's in the middle of the epitome of a beautiful New England town....or that the staff is very...
