⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Even though the store was closed when we passed through, the experience itself made the entire stop unforgettable. 🐾 The chance to meet and play with real prairie dogs was pure joy — they brought out the kid in both of us! Their curious little faces and playful energy touched our hearts and gave us a beautiful moment of laughter and connection on our travels through the Badlands.

It’s not every day you find a place that gives you memories like that — thank you for giving travelers a chance to slow down, smile, and remember what simple happiness feels like. 🌾💛

🎥 SaltLight Thomas Journey — Prairie Dog Town, South Dakota 🐾✨

We pulled off the highway today and found ourselves surrounded by the cutest chaos — a whole prairie dog village popping up to say hello! 😄

Tiny paws, bright eyes, and tails flicking in the sun — they chirped, squeaked, and posed like they owned the place (and honestly, they kind of do). 🌾💛

Here are a few fun facts we learned about these little prairie pups:

🌿 1. They’re expert communicators. Prairie dogs have one of the most complex languages in the animal world — scientists say they can describe what a predator looks like, its size, and even the direction it’s coming from! 🗣️

🏡 2. They build underground cities. Each “town” can stretch for miles with tunnels, rooms, and even nurseries. The entrances you see are just the rooftops of a whole prairie-dog metropolis below! 🏜️

💞 3. They’re affectionate little neighbors. They greet each other with nose touches or what looks like kisses — it’s actually how they recognize family and friends. 💋🐾

🌎 4. They’re guardians of the prairie. Their digging helps aerate the soil and spread nutrients, making them a keystone species — meaning the ecosystem depends on them for balance.

It’s easy to drive past fields and think they’re empty… until you stop, look closer, and realize life is thriving everywhere. 🐾✨ Sometimes the smallest creatures remind us that even in quiet places, God’s creation hums with joy. 🌻

THIS. WAS. AWESOME!!!!! Super cool and unique experience, and for a dollar a bag, how could you go wrong?!?? Originally I thought they were a tad small, but the dogs are a little tricky to feed (presumably because they are already full, some are HEFTY!!) so it comes out to a good amount. Plus, you can find some fresh ones on the ground too that are good. One bag of nuts per person is plenty, and it's such a cool experience! We found it on a website just 20 minutes away on our road trip, so admittedly we were a bit skeptical. But, rest assured, it was incredible and something I don't think I'll forget. Even more, for photo ops, they have a 6 ton, 12 ft. sculpture of a dog that is pretty neat too. This is an experience no zoo could ever offer, and you can walk a foot away from the exciting dogs! They are pretty vocal/expressive, kind of cute, and it's fascinating to watch them work on their holes. There's a gift shop inside too, but that was pretty average in my opinion. Overall, a super cool detour that you can't miss! It's truly unforgettable, affordable, and so unique in the middle of nowhere. If you're on the fence, I would totally recommend checking...

I received the Badlands Ranch today and I was feeling foolish for spending money on yet another healthy product that I knew I would have to return for a refund but I am thrilled to be so wrong. I opened it up and put a few pieces down for the pickiest Eater of all the Chihuahuas I've ever had and surprised and shocked to my core that she gobbled it up in a flash. I gave her more and she gobbled it up. I have been boiling chicken thighs every night for 3 years and knowing she needed more nutrition than that I have tried adding veggies and fruits and no luck getting her to eat anything else. I am thrilled and cannot believe I'm even getting to write this review! I am so happy I watched your entire presentation Katherine and I am ordering much more. You could knock me over with a feather right now I am so shocked and excited for this product.!! Thank you thank you for all your research and time that youve dedicated to give our pets healthy food. Sincerely your newest best customer Joyce Van Steen...
