My husband and I went here to get a couples massage for our anniversary present. And I really must say I was really quite disappointed in the facilities! The massage was great! Dave it was my masseuse and he was incredible and my husband enjoyed his massage as well! However I really thought that the facilities were lacking. The shower wasn't anything special in fact my shower is like that at home so that was disappointing. I also didn't care for the steam room that much because it really didn't get hot. There was a lot of steam in there but it never got hot. In fact, I never even broke a sweat. There is no sauna so that was also another disappointment. And the cushions outside on the lawn chairs were dirty! If this is supposed to be a five-star hotel they should pay attention to the little details like clean pillows outside on the lawn chairs! I don't think I will go back here again although David was phenomenal! Spare yourself the disappointment! There are far too many outstanding spas here in the Scottsdale Phoenix area to go to! By the way, I'm giving it to stars because during my massage they did play the theme from The Godfather! That made my day! Other than that it's a very average spa with limited facilities! As I said before, there are too many other fabulous spas to go to in and around the Scottsdale area rather than settling...

Originally planned to go here with my mother for her birthday but sadly, day-of, she wasn't feeling too great. I did have to cancel her service but the staff were so incredibly kind about it! I ended up still going by myself and I got a 50 minute facial with (I'm so sorry if this isn't the right name but I believe it was close to) Kristina. :-) They did a magnificent job with helping me feel cared for, safe, and informed the entire time. They really took their time explaining things to me and making sure I left comfortable and confident with my new skincare recommendation/adjustment that I asked for. I did take advantage of the amenities afterward- The jacuzzi and the pool were both beautiful and well-maintained. While there was no sauna access this time around (either due to maintenance or Covid-related-safety, which I appreciate) but I am looking forward to that opening back up in the future! The grounds were beautiful as well- I love the mediterranean feel, I truly felt transported to a little oasis right in the middle of the desert. I cant wait to bring my mother back here with me when she's feeling up for it! Thank you to all of the staff members for being outstanding, I...

Alvadora Spa, nestled within the Royal Palms Resort, boasts beautiful facilities that perfectly capture a Spanish Hacienda feel. The space is clean and open, with calming lighting and scents that immediately put you at ease upon entering.

Check in was seamless and I was given a tour by a courteous front desk employee.

However, my experience was marred by some significant issues. The relaxation area being co-ed was a deal breaker. As a woman, I felt uneasy being the only female in a room with two robed men. One kept looking at me and clearing his throat, which I found highly inappropriate and unsettling. Women need a safe, private space to fully relax, and this setup did not provide that.

The massage portion of my treatment felt more like a hurried rub down rather than a thorough, relaxing massage. The additional services I paid for were also rushed, leaving me feeling short-changed.

Overall, while the ambiance and aesthetics of Alvadora Spa are exceptional, the co-ed relaxation area and the subpar quality of the massage significantly detracted from...

*4.5 stars Truly a magical relaxing spot to enjoy a spa day. Customer service was excellent and honestly I thought the accommodations were very cozy and welcoming. Check-in was very easy, I used valet parking which is complimentary and it was a short walk to the spa. The relaxation area was really nice - it’s being renovated due to water damage but it was still plenty of room to wait for your appointment. Lockers are provided and amenities for showering and getting ready. The hot tub is small but it was still super refreshing and nice for relaxing, the robes provided were really comfy too. The only reason I have the spa less than 5 stars is because the steam room was broken - and I love a steam room, especially after a massage. The massage was great, the therapist was attentive to my needs and the pressure I wanted. The pool area (which is for the whole hotel not just the spa) was very nice and the service was excellent. Overall, I was super happy with my experience and I would definitely return!
