The Mix Up Bar — Restaurant in Phoenix

I’d love to give this place 5 stars bc my cocktails were awesome. Italian Paloma was my favorite. However we had a huge problem with the wings we ordered. Flavor was awesome and the flats were okay, but the drumsticks were massively untrimmed. We had to bite through chewy layers of fat and skin before getting to the meat, and because some of them were so large & untrimmed, the meat in the middle was cold... I asked our server if this is how they were normally served and she said “oh I don’t know I’ve never looked that closely” and then she walked away and sent a bartender over to close us out...very disappointed considering we payed $20 for poorly prepared wings that were otherwise highly...

We had an out of town guest and wanted to do something special so we selected the mix up. Atmosphere was as expected but the service was deplorable. We had to clean off our table as the waiter was nowhere in sight after finishing our food and first round, ordering a second drink was challenging and then when the bill arrived which was close to $200.00 for three there were items not included for happy hour which we felt the waiter should have informed us when ordering. Perfect happy hour. Great atmosphere and I was pleased that they had a mask policy and all the staff wore masks. Obviously they can't make guests wear a mask but it made me feel comfortable that the staff was. The happy hour prices are terrific. Everything is VERY well marked on the menu regarding which items are included and unlike the review below, there was no gratuity added to our bill, though we gladly paid 20 percent for the terrific service we received.
