+JMJ...Was recently blessed to participate in the Maronite Rite Holy Mass which was offered this past Friday, 8 June 2018, in Cottonwood in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. This was a special event to commemorate the Feast of St Sharbel. In Father's homily, he gave details about the life of St Sharbel who was a hermit dedicated to a life of material poverty, prayerfulness, and a selfless service to God and neighbor. The priest also mentioned that St Sharbel was lovingly devoted to Jesus, truly present in the Eucharist, and was lovingly devoted to Jesus's Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. When I lived in Richmond VA, I was a parishioner of the Maronite Catholic Church. The priest was serious about the salvation of souls but he could be very kind. And, the parish family adopted me as their own even though I am an American who happens to be black. They even allowed me to participate in preparing food for their Annual Lebanese Food Festival. I am looking forward to my next visit to Phoenix. I will make it my business to visit...
Read moreUpdate: so happy I am able to come & pray when I have a spare moment to stop by during the day. Even just a few minutes recharges my being.

(don't forget to bring your prayer intentions/requests written on a ribbon to hang on the saint) So glad I was able to make a donation for lighting some candles at the outdoor shrine. We're sad we missed their annual festival this year but our chiropractor living nearby said it was another great event to tantalize the taste buds & spirit. We try to come each month on the 18th for the Saint Sharbel Divine Liturgy, healing prayers and Blessing with Holy Oil. I wished we lived closer so we could attend mass here more often and refresh our...
Read moreSome of the people that attend this church Think that Virginia Ave. is a race track, as they speed through the neighborhood on their way to and from church services. They also have no respect for the residents in the neighborhood! I was almost hit twice this morning by parishioners. Once by a guy that didn't think he had to share the road and almost hit me head on and then again by a guy that was impatient and passed me on the left as I was turning left into my driveway! The Priest should give a sermon to his parishioners about respect for the neighborhood that their Church is located in!! Apparently No one from the church reads these reviews. The speeding and disrespect for the neighborhood seems to be...
