Food Lion — Local services in Piedmont

This was a fabulous store, and I was thrilled that it was available when we moved closer a couple of months ago.

Well today I am at work and need to get batteries for temperature scans on all incoming employees and brown paper bags in which masks will be stored over the shift. I tried to purchase 11 sets of bags ( enough to cover all shifts through Monday morning ) and two sets of batteries for scanning.

Oh no, there is a max of 2 on all items. I am like okay there are no signs... manager pipes back with “there are signs all over the store”... well I am here to tell you there were none in batteries or picnic supplies. I asked why not on doors coming in and she is like can’t put signs on those doors.

I get it that some people are hoarding. I was trying to use... don’t worry I won’t be back. And I get it that grocery store employees are having a hard time right now (my sister is customer service manager in NC), but there was no call for her attitude or tone with me when I questioned the lack of appropriate signage. Lastly, and I will stop venting, the manager made the clerk hand the 9 that she was returning before the clerk could finish scanning me out... glad that the customer’s time is not...

If I could leave no stars I would. Terrible Place of Operation and to Work. Starting with the store manager, I have never worked up under a store manager that does not know the answer to basic questions about a store they have been managing for years. She will straight out of her mouth tell you she doesn’t have time to help/talk to you and send you to some-one else for help. She is tremendously rude to hard worker’s and paying customer’s then tries to act like she’s God’s Angel when Cooperate comes around 🤣. You know your store manager is terrible when customer’s complain to you about her. The “Book-Keeper” Pam is another one she deliberately followed me into the break room trapped me inside and would not move from in-front of the door until i forcefully yanked the door from behind her , she then proceeded to follow me and start hollering at me in-front of customer’s. This Food lion location should be ashamed of the people they hire and how they proceed to carry on Food Lion’s core values. 10/10 would not recommend and Im sorry to all whom may be still working there and...

Today 4/13/2025 I ordered groceriesfor pick up like ido every Sunday. I went and picked them up, then I got a call when I was in powdersville pulling in my driveway, 25 mins after leaving store, that the associate who brought my groceries left a bag at the store. I couldn't make it back by the alloted 8 pm. Now, I have to drive another 18 miles tomrw after finding time between my full time job and mydaughters volleyball game, to get the bag of groceries. Gas is expensive and this is a needless and stupid expense. Last week, I had to sit in the parking lot for almost a full hour to get the groceries I ordered and had a text much earlier that they were ready. This is getting riddiculous. Seriously considering changing stores. I've always recommended this store, but I'm starting to regret it. Sadly I left the below review 7 months ago..... now i had to change it...... 7months ago I said, Great prices as far as u can get these days, mobile coupons, download the app and use it's worth it. Clean and most employees are helpful...
