I went down here looking to be a handmade jewelry vendor. After doing some research online (with the minimum amount of information that you can find on here) I decided to go down there at 6 to set up (because I seen on here that the booths had to be set up before 8 to avoid the reservation getting taken away). But when I got there I was walking around looking for information on how to purchase the booth so I can set up. The vendor right next to the office was being so rude to me. I walked up to her and asked how to purchase a booth and she ignored me at first then eventually said she doesn’t know with an attitude. So about an hour and a half later I began looking around again for information and I found a man who told me that I can’t purchase a booth until 8 am (when the office opens). So I wait until the office opens and when it does I go in ready to make a booth Purchase and basically the owner (or manager, whatever) tells me that I can’t get a booth because she isn’t accepting any more jewelry vendors, then asked if I had a sc sellers license (which I didn’t know I needed because there is absolutely no information about that anywhere that I had looked when I was doing research). So then she gave me a pamphlet (which I would post but I lost it) with a whole list of vendors she isn’t accepting. What makes it worst is, this is the biggest and closest flea market to Charlotte, and because there is little information online about this flea market, you waste time, energy and money trying to be a vendor just to get denied. This flea market is not ideal for someone who’s just trying to get rid of some inventory. If you are a vendor trying to sell there I don’t recommend at all! I had a bad experience and it seems that most of the vendors that she’s interested in having there are permanent vendors. I just ended up leaving and going to another flea market that I was able to become...
Read moreOne of the best around, only reason a 5 star rating is not being given is lack of website. I believe a website would be huge for both vendors and patrons. I want to rent a space or maybe 2.
I think having a map tab that shows available spots and dates along with what genre of items are being sold would help potential vendors. Think of purchasing an airline ticket. I can pick my dates, puck my times, pick my seats. If i want to shop there, i should be able to look at that days map and see how many vendors are supposed to be open and what types of items are being sold there.
Could go as far as having patrons give vendor reviews. Example...This particular sock selling vendor has 2 stars and this other Particular sock vendor has 5 stars. Why have this feature? This helps patrons choose which vendor suits their needs and helps vendors compete by seeing what that 5 star vendor is doing to earn that rating.
In addition to the above examples why a website can be important, it can make the flea market money to improve upon an already good flea market... Vendors can pay a little money (To Millers flea market through website) to post on right on the website in a tab that allows the vendors to list things of importance to help get noticed like...any sales, promotions, prices of certain “in demand items” or even list items they sell.
There are many more examples why a website would be more than valuable for patrons, vendors and the owner(s) of Millers Flea Market. Thank you for whom ever reads this and believes in the...
Read moreIf I could give the flea market staff a zero I would. The office staff are incompetent and disrespectful. They discriminate against black vendors and Jill and the older lady who work in the office decide who they allow to serve as a vendor, preferably non-black. If you are a minority vendor please take your business elsewhere. Not worth the time or the frustration. I called and spoke to someone a couple weeks ago and was cleared to bring my products into this Market. When I arrive the lady in the office gave me a pamphlet with prohibited items and none of my products were on the (list). Before I could give her my answer of what I sold she told me no. (Based off of my appearance) she seemed uncomfortable and told me that I could not offer homemade products (which I don’t) then stated I would need to have a retail license (which I have). After this they have the sheriff come in and stand behind me (as a micro-aggression) since I continued to ask questions. After Jill realized that she couldn’t make up anymore reasons to tell my business partner and I no she proceeds to say that the CDC came into her market and they can’t have anyone who sells ethnic beauty supply products. After I walked around the market I saw the same products that I sell but only with white vendors. It’s 2023 people let’s leave the racism in the past. I’ll take my...
