Auto Sound — Local services in Plainville

I called a few places for quotes on having an auto start installed in my vehicle. I explained that there was already one installed that needed to be removed as it wasn't working anymore and a new one installed. Ron from Auto Sound was the only one that actually quoted me a price for removing the old one and installing a new one. I decided to give them a shot. My appointment was scheduled for 10:00; however, I showed up about a half hour early. Paul (working the front counter) had my car taken right in. The waiting area was comfortable; complete with a TV and vending machines. There was a nice soundtrack that Paul had playing in the background, so I decided to listen to that while I was reading a book. I asked how long it would be and Paul said about an hour. Within an hour I paid for the auto start, Paul took me out to the vehicle to show me how it worked and I was on my way. So far so good. Although I am not actually editing my initial review, I am adding to my review based on a new experience with Paul and Auto Sound in Plainville. The radio on my 2012 Honda Pilot would cut in and out as I was driving around. I found this to be a nuisance and very frustrating. Paul asked to go outside and check out my my vehicle. He noticed that the antenna was in one of the passenger side rear windows of my SUV. Well, Paul told me that there was a portable antenna that could be mounted on the inside of the windshield on the passenger side of the vehicle. I was willing to try anything, so I said sure let's try it. I went this morning for my appointment. After about an hour or so, my car was ready. Paul asked me to go out and check out a few radio stations and see how the reception was. We had preset a radio station prior to the install of the new antenna that the reception was not that great. Upon getting in the car I noticed that the radio station's reception was much better and clearer. I drove to a different spot in the parking lot and the reception was still better than it was before. I paid for the work and then drove the 8 miles to my home. This trip would have normally entailed my radio sporadically cutting in and out multiple times. The radio did not cut out once the whole ride home and I found the reception much more clear and crisp than I ever remember the radio being in the three years I've owned the car. Had a problem with my stereo system in my 2015 Toyota RAV4 which stopped working. Tried everything from checking the wiring to replacing the fuses and had the dealership service look at it. The mechanic at the dealership would not touch it but recommended to bring it to an auto stereo shop instead. Called around to several shops and they either outright won’t touch it or said quoted me an estimate way above my budget. Found somebody who tested the radio and diagnosed we needed a new one. Installed new one and it work but can not link to the steering wheel controls and could not control the volume. Finally called Auto Sound in Plainville and explained my situation to Ron who was helpful and said they can access the problem. Made an appointment. Brought the car in and checked in with Paul. Comfortable and clean waiting area with coffee maker, water bubbler and cable tv. Carlos, the technician, accessed and troubleshooting both of the old radios. Tried to revive the original radio and it did not work at all and the recent installed one was incompatible with the car which is why it could not connect with the controls on the steering wheel. Paul helped recommended several solutions to rectify the situation. Since going without tunes was not an option, i went with one of their in stock stereo systems. Carlos installed it and fitted with the proper brackets and wiring. Then took the time to explained how everything worked including programming the car play feature with my Iphone. First time Here and it will be the last ! Super rude to me and messed my car up , went here originally cause I was installing a car CD player and ran into problems with the harness I had for jbl factory system so I called and said they had it but bring it down to take a look so I did and had them install it my harness ended up being wrong and I was willing to pay for it but instead the installer was rude and didn't seem to wanna be there working when I asked why my car was coming back out so quick , so I go in to tell the guy paul behind the counter he didn't seem to care at all sticking with his worker then later called me rude for saying anything and yelling at me WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO! YOU'RE THE CUSTOMER when I wasnt happy that the volume controls weren't working For the pac controls I bought from them, i was disgusted with this place and we had priced out a remote starter for $350 and wires for subwoofer and amp $450 that I was gonna do but after that going elsewhere and some gouges in my front dash from radio installed just bought car.. pic provided also on the way home the hood was never latched someone was beeping pointing thank god it was bouncing I could have...
