Scoops Ice Cream Shop at Hatch Materials — Restaurant in Plainville

I went here when it was Summer Scoops and would always leave disappointed, so I decided to give it another chance now that there is new ownership. The service was slow and staff seemed confused on orders. I ordered soft serve and one staff member told the person ahead of me it was one size only, and then I was able to order a small. The soft serve the man ahead of me ordered was clearly a small, where as mine appeared to be more of a kiddie. I also ordered a small hard serve, and you could barely eat the ice cream because the spoon was so flimsy. The ordering window is very confusing, as the person that took your order isn’t the one making it, and some orders were wrong. There was also the issue of someone who just ordered, trying to take the order of someone else who had been waiting. I went with 4 kids to grab ice cream. I asked if they took cards and was told only if they have the tap feature. The card I had doesn't have that so I scrambled to grab a different card while managing said 4 kids solo. Went back to the window to order and the womakn in front of me was paying with her chip card. The teenage who just told me I couldn't do that was there and I said why did you just tell me I couldn't do that but she is doing that right now? 5 Stars. The location was great for kids, with various all the play activities for kids with different ages; kids dig site, playground, yard checkers, large connect 4. The staff were very kind, ice cream service was quick, and there was ample space with plenty of seating. There also was a special Frozen event to meet Anna & Elsa today, which was exciting.
