OMG it was so very frustrating the other night trying to run in at the last minute and purchase just a couple things I really needed. An employee I've never recalled seeing before is there right with me striking up conversations about the things I was buying he even interrupted a conversation I was having with the person I came with and as him and I were talking this employee says ,"That makes the items 2$ each!" Well, yes I understood that but as I tell him it still helps me not bc the only kind I'm wanting they don't have. I tell him how good it is maybe they could order it and I don't remember what exactly he says next but I tell him yes, they are available bc Dollar General carries it, and oh my goodness.... I said the wrong thing! Anyhoo I got away but only to be met in the frozen food section, then where the salads are kept. It's so close to closing and he brings out all these chocolate covered strawberries and has his cart blocking me showing them to me going on and on. Later down another isle I'm getting frustrated bc I can't find bacon bits but he's telling me where they are! I just walk away from my buggy looking for my friend and next thing you know he's pushing my buggy and he approaches me asking if I filled the buggy up just to leave it for other people to put the stuff back. Well, I wasn't planning on it but it sounded like a fine idea. So I did. I don't know what the world is his deal but it was surely a very weird experience as well as...

Weekly trips and the rotation of sale items in a month will acomodate any family. This store is a well kept secret. People come from other locations to get the fresh meat here. The prices are like a Foodland or Piggly Wiggly. The produce is good, and the canned vegetable section is large compared to a Wal-Mart. They know the canned veggies people are looking for. This store has been owned and operated by the same family since Pleasant Grove was dirt roads, pastures, and apple orchards. I have shopped here since I was a kid. Family friendly with kids shopping carts, and engaging staff. Well , it's a small town, swing by and listen in on local conversations, get a 40 cent soda out of the vending machine. It's...
Read moreI shop at Hills because of the convenience. I don't use Hills for my large grocery purchases. They are too high . I've noticed that throughout the store the brands on the shelves are the highest and next to the highest. Minute maid orange juices ( frozen) is all I've found there for almost $5 a can .
Then, these young cashiers that are still in school or fresh out of school. They have no customer service training it appears. They carry on conversations with each other as if the customer isn't standing there. Recently I went through the line of a young cashier. She never looked at me, never smiled. She scanned my items, told me the price. I paid and that was it. She never thanked me or wished me a good day, etc... never looked at me . After being done this way by several I ask her could she not just smile. S responded in a snappy tone. It's 9:00 in the morning so no. I told her that she should go home and get her nap out if she didn't want to work and give customer service. The young ones don't want to be bothered or work .. they want...
