I was a member for 2 years here. I left in January of 2023 because I had had enough of their daycare staff. Specifically Brenda who works almost every morning shift. There are a lot of younger kids (3 and under) that come in the morning and she is clearly not fit for her position. There is no “fun” allowed in the morning. All she does is yell and follow around the kids correcting their every move. Constantly putting them in time out. I understand kids are no perfect and their behavior needs to be managed but she is just not nice to children. And everyone can feel it. My 2 year old would act out SO much more when she was working vs other employees.

Well I am writing this review now, 8 months after I left because the gym I currently go to had to close for a week for maintenance. So I decided I would workout at the Recplex for a week. I paid $210 for a WEEK pass. Absolutely ridiculous price. I asked if I could just buy a membership then because it would be cheaper to just cancel after a month of use and they said their minimum term commitment is a year. Still I joined and my kids were so excited to see their friends they had not seen in months. Well after my week pass I was notified that Brenda was gloating to other staff that she gave my 2 year old a “write up” for hitting. Excuse me, what? I didn’t receive any write up for him. Not only that but who the f writes up a 2 year old? Anyone with any type of experience in working with young children should know that that is what toddlers do! Show them the right thing to do and move on.

So again, unless you want to pay a disgusting amount for your membership, on top of that deal with staff who don’t care about your kids and talk poorly about your children then by all means join this gym! I am so happy my week pass reminded...

Since joining I’ve learned that the facility and equipment itself is great. The teenagers/kids they have working there not so much. I’m not old myself I’m in my early 20s. So it’s nothing against young people as I’m young myself.

I came in today on 08/25/2024 around 2:00pm. I communicated that I was buying a guest pass for my sister for the water park so she can play(she’s a child) the blonde girl charged me for my guest pass but never handed us a wrist band. We weren’t told that the water park is under construction until after we tried entering from multiple entrances. At that point that defeated the entire purpose of even buying the guest pass. I asked one girl if the guest pass was good for the beach she said with an attitude “check up front they would know” for reference this girl was at a desk by the “ other pool” which is just lanes for swimming which again I’m with a “child”. Went up and was told yes and proceeded to have to clarify that we needed a “wrist band”. When we walked up she asked us “what” like we were being an inconvenience to her time.

Overall to the senior management I think PROPER COMMUNICATION. Needs to be addressed and reinforced because these kids are glued to their phones and literally barely speaking and being helpful. Honestly they’re better off not even being in the way. Please just don’t hire these people without properly screening if they can competently speak with the community

You guys still get two stars from me because regardless of the shitty customer service I received from sign up until 7 months later the facility itself is great just hate having to speak with those mute socially awkward weirdos...

I have had my membership for over a year now and I have never really been impressed with it. I strictly go because of convenience of how close it is to where I live. It is grossly overpriced for what you get, it is a very busy gym that has basic equipment that you will most likely have to wait to use. I am absolutely fine with this part though as I know it’s popular and many people go here.

However, my main problem is with the women’s locker room/sauna. I understand that there will always be multiple naked women walking around at any time (even though there’s no real need to stand naked in the middle of the sink area to do your makeup). I do find it absolutely disgusting though when women find the need to sit naked in the sauna, legs spread, not sitting on a towel or anything. Basic sauna rules say to have a towel to sit on because that’s overall so unhygienic. I don’t want to sit in a hot steamy room where someone’s bare genitals are on the porous wood where other people sit. It’s also incredibly uncomfortable when older naked women decide to oil themselves and stretch in the middle of the small sauna room, still naked, while grunting or moaning. There are so many other places for that that will respect other people’s space and relaxation. I also just read someone got ringworm from the sauna a month ago, so this also makes me feel even more disgusting sitting in the sauna. Do the employees clean the sauna even since it’s a dark, damp environment that promotes bacteria and other infections it seems? I pay SO much for a basic membership to use these amenities when other cheap gyms have the same, if not more. So...
