My 13YO Horton finally bit the dust. I bought a new Wicked Ridge Commander M1 from these guys. Very patient on the setup and explanation of the whole bow...from start to ending. I think they spent 1.5hr explaining all procedures. At home the next day I was zeroing in the CB at 20, 30, & 40yds.
Well, since I'm human I made the mistake of not removing the cranking sled right away. Then in the process of getting a bolt I got distracted. So, I then aim the bow at the target, set the safe to fire, pull the trigger only to hear a sort of "thud". Knowing something was wrong I looked.... and dummy me I never placed an arrow in nor did I remove the cocking sled. (When you stop laughing please read on)
So, the anti-dry fire did its thing. Then when I tried to re-cock it, I could not make that happen. Then...remembering about half of the video I watched, I began to de-cock the crossbow using the crank\sled. (Note: Don't do that) So, the bow string got about half way down the rail ....then the cocking sled flipped up and I had a half-way dry fire. This popped the string off the one pulley.
I took it to UO the next day and humbly admitted my errors. They checked over the crossbow, installed a new string rail sled, and we went to their indoor range to test it out.
They were very professional about the entire matter and I think they charged me $20 to fix my "dumbness".
Lesson learned. I've been shooting it and it's a great bow.
These guys are very good and have an extensive knowledge of crossbows. I highly...
Read moreThree years ago I decided to go to Ultimate Outdoors to buy a bow and it was the best decision I've ever made. The first time walking through the door I didn't have an appointment and it was in August before archery season so Tim and Jason were pretty busy but they still found the time to set me up with a bow. I never felt pressured into buying anything. After my first experience buying a bow there I knew I would never go anywhere else again. Every question I asked they had the answer they helped me giving me some pointers on shooting when I went and picked my bow up. When I got home I never shot so good I finally had a bow that was tuned and fitted me perfect. Most bow shops you go in slap a rest and sight on send you out the door on your way and that's not the case at Ultimate Outdoors. When you buy a bow from these guys you know you have a piece of equipment you can trust that's not going to fail you. Since my first experience I have already went back and bought another bow this year and have all intensions on getting another this upcoming year. I have recommended friends and family to go see Tim and Jason at Ultimate Outdoors for any of there archery needs as I would recommend anyone else that's looking for a shop with knowledgeable guys who will answer your questions and help you out...
Read more5 stars is not enough! About 7 years ago I walked in to Ultimate Outdoors not knowing anything about archery. A lot of places would have sold me a bow, some arrows, a release, and sent me on my way. Jason and Tim were extremely patient and actually took the time to educate me on the bow and the fundamentals of shooting. They answered all of my questions and made me feel like I was talking to my buddy instead of someone I just met. Since that time I have purchased three bows, a muzzleloader, and a crossbow in addition to other archery related items from them. I live close to an hour away and literally drive right by another bow shop on my way to Ultimate Outdoors. No disrespect to other bow shops (because I have no experience with them) but it is my opinion that Jason and Tim are the best in the business. As archers, if you are not confident in your equipment it will reflect in your shooting. Every time I leave Ultimate Outdoors I know my bow is set up perfectly and if I perform that arrow will hit its mark. Jason and Tim run a top-notch business but more importantly they are top-notch people. Ultimate Outdoors is the only place I will go for my...
