Hi Tina, thank you again for your response. I’d like to calmly clarify what happened — I’m not here to argue, just to share what I experienced.
I came to your farm looking to pick watermelons, not blueberries. However, there were no clear signs or communication indicating that watermelon picking was not available, and that only ready-picked watermelons were for sale.
I asked you directly about watermelon picking, but you didn’t clearly explain that picking was not available. Instead, you directed me to another farm down the road.
At that other farm, I found they only had blueberries and flowers. When I returned, I said, “they only have blueberries,” referring to the place you had sent me to — not your farm.
On my third visit, I asked another customer near the driveway where the watermelon picking area was. She told me, “There’s no picking here — just go inside and buy one.” So I went in and picked one up.
At the register, I was told the price was $7. But when I asked if I could pay with my phone, I was told it would be $10 — without any prior notice of this price difference. The tone felt cold, and the transaction ended with a sharp “Here you go,” which made the experience uncomfortable.
I’m not writing this out of anger. I understand that misunderstandings can happen. But for the sake of clarity and future customers, I feel it’s important to share my honest experience.
Thank you, and I wish you the best. ———————————————————————
There is no watermelon picking here, only ready-picked ones for sale. Hi Tina, thank you for your response. However, I would like to clarify that I did not come looking for Emery’s Blueberry Farm — I was there solely to buy watermelons, which I stated clearly from the beginning.
If there was any misunderstanding, it might be due to internal communication at your location, but I was not confused about where I was going. I also believe it’s important to respond to customers with honesty and accuracy.
I hope this clears things...
Read moreAfter driving past this family owned gem of a “roadside farm stand” for many years without stopping I finally decided to take a leisurely drive down 539 to check it out. So glad I did! There’s something special about buying produce from the place where it is actually grown! I didn’t go with a thought of anything I needed, just wanted to check it out. What really made this “road trip” special today was meeting Lisa who was sorting apples when I walked in. Now I knew I was at the real deal!! As I browsed around I picked a slew of frying peppers, hot peppers, Cauliflower,, turnips, Cantaloupes, a beautiful bouquet of fresh Fall flowers(for extra points when I got home!) , a jar of their Salsa and a giant Eggplant! Just when I thought it couldn’t get anymore “Mayberry RFD”, out comes the other star of my visit, COCO!! This handsome coco colored terrier was all love!! Lisa could not have been any more friendlier and personable! We had great conversation like we knew each other forever! As I sat in my car getting set to leave I was pleasantly mobbed by a gaggle/flock/ gang(lol) of Turkeys!! Lisa did an awesome job of corralling them from running into traffic on 539! I guess they know the clock is ticking (Thanksgiving!!🤦) and they were trying to fly the coupe! And just when the coast was clear Lisa said hold on, don’t leave yet! She ran inside and came back out with a bunch of apples for me on the house!! My special baked apples will be on the menu! Talk about making me a customer for life! So obviously I had an awesome first experience here and can’t wait to return, even if just to see Lisa and Coco! Ok and maybe the Turkeys if they managed to stay unstuffed and out of the oven!! Btw… Lisa informed me of a big vendor market tomorrow 11/7 at their location. Thank you Lisa, Coco and the Turkey family for...
Read moreI just left this place about 15 minutes ago. The woman there has a policy and she has a sign up you're not allowed to open the corn to see what it looks like the sign says in bold letters all of my corn has all of its kernels! So I trusted her well obviously all of her corn does not have all of its kernels. I bought six ears two of the ears definitely were missing kernels and the third ear definitely was rotten. If I was allowed to clean the corn I would not have chosen these ears. But she knows that and that's why she doesn't allow you to clean the corn. I definitely will not be returning to this Farm Stand. Plus she charges $0.50 in ear which I feel is a little pricey...
