First year going. Sure it was cool to see all the vendors and different food choices. Sure “10$ parking” is awesome too with no entrance fee but never again! It was arm to arm and back to back crowds of people the whole time! Thank god the public in general is respectful of one another because if they weren’t and panic broke out people would get trampled at this event! I was so excited to go. If you don’t mind crowds like this I’m sure you will be fine lol but I think you have no idea what you’re getting into. I heard so many people upset about how packed it was. My boyfriend and I got seperated a couple times because the crowds walking were so confined. Children can get easily lost for sure which is scary. Not a place for the elderly who struggle to walk long and strollers 🤦🏻♀️those poor people. Walking alone was hard enough lol I had to hold my arms up against me just to ease my way through 85%of the time walking to get anywhere. 4$ charge for a refill and 2$ for a small cup of cheese with a giant 8$ stack of those potato chip things. Like for real!😳 I would never recommend going especially if you have anxiety with crowds and claustrophobic. At the end I was thankful people were decent human beings that attended this event. Across all those thousands of people I did not come across anyone rude. I personally loved seeing all the people enjoying their time out generally respecting...
Read moreBest fireworks show hands down! Granted the fireworks in Louisville at the air show are way bigger BUT the explosion at the end of this show is AWESOME! Everyone is always on their feet screaming by the end of it and saying how awesome it was. Every year we are glad we stayed for the fireworks.
The festival is free to get in and you can walk in with a water or whatever to start you off. They do not do security checks, so people can bring in whatever they want. Parking is free across the street, diagonal from KFC, on the street. Just make sure to read the signs. Otherwise I recommend parking in the back and supporting the schools then ride the tram into the festival.
It’s extremely crowded in the back by the rides, so be prepared. The food is great. Make sure to get an order of fresh made doughnuts by the front entrance (across from Kroger) best you’ll ever have. They also have a $3 blueberry shake that’s delicious in the middle where all the food/seating is. If you come with kids I recommend taking them to one of the places with staff and getting them a wristband with your name and...

My daughter got ride a horse, they had A LOT of the same rides as the fair, even the big rides, AND OMG WAS THE FOOD AMAZING!!! They had TURKEY LEGS!!! COME ON!!!!!! What I enjoyed the most was how this event is placed further in the year, SO YOU'RE NOT BURNING UP AND BEGGING FOR RELIEF!!! I'll pick this route over a fair ANYDAY!!
