Pretty Lake Golf Club — Local services in Plymouth

Surprised at some reviews. Went out today (10-13-24) for last round of season due to knee surgery next week. Heard good things about Pretty Lake so made the drive down. Fairways narrow and greens tough to read. That’s about all the good stuff. Too many dudes out there with no clue about pace or etiquette. Sad. Threesone in front of us busy listening to music and being online instead of looking at open hole in front of them. Stood and chatted on one tee while we were on the green nearby. Completely ignored the par 3 cart only signs, parking in rough in front of green and on the crown of the green. Pulled a bad tee shot that went over our head and yelled Fore after it went by. Then this guy runs through a bunker to pick up the wayward drive. Finally drove around them and got behind a three ball playing a scramble. Urban myth that scrambles make for faster play. At least the one golfer in tee shirt and bare feet wasn’t scared by the dress code posted by the club house. Finally gave up after 9. Not asking for everyone to be low digit handicaps but if you insist on coming out please TRY to get better or learn...

Course is in about the same condition as a poorly maintained muni. Greens are all in good condition but the fairways and areas of rough just off the fairways are filled with dead patches of grass, washed out areas and large sections of ground that are just dirt.

The biggest issue I have with this is that they charge $70+ for a weekend round and have dress code rules that would lead you to believe the course is actually in decent condition. I’d definitely recommend playing Swan Lake just up the road if you want a $70 round experience or driving to a neighboring towns local muni for the same experience at 60% of the price and none of the pretentiousness.

Also they just have some dude wandering around the course with his dog heckling the golfers. He randomly followed my group for an entire hole and just kept making commentary about our games. It was one of the weirdest experiences I’ve had...

Get to the 15th tee box, no markers. After lookin all around for 10mins, finally a club member pulls up and says hey, you haveta play 11 thru 14 again, the last holes are closed. Didnt they tell you? Now they did not, he even said wow. So now we have 4 carts together, but they let us play it thru. Finish that hole but its so backed up its pityful. We just headed to the club house disgusted we,d haveta wait WAY TOO LONG to play 3 more holes. I mentioned they should have told us and the lady smiles and says yes we shouldve, like it was funny.
