I ordered nearly $900 with shipping of fish and supplies. A couple where DOA but that was expected, heck that happened from the pet store home, let alone across country. Yet, I did not receive the Blue Gill that I ordered at all. They weren't even on the packing order. I called immediately and sent an email, per instructions. It has been two weeks and I have not received any communication after multiple attempts. I finally spoke to the secretary, she said that they were understaffed but promised that someone would contact me. I have not gotten an answer on if it was a shipping error, a different box that got lost, out of stock, delayed, absolutely no attempt at customer service or follow up communication. I just need answers. The window for delivery is closing as we are expecting 90F and above for the next few months.
Update: I did get an email that the Blue Gil were spawning with a follow call that I could either wait or do the larger size. I chose the larger size and suggested that they ship that week as it was our last with 80F weather. I have not gotten a shipping notice nor the fish. We are now expecting 100F by the weekend. I have no faith in the icepack for their survival. I tried calling again, there isn't even a way to leave a voice message.
Update to the Update: Communication did resume. I did get larger fish instead of the smaller ones I ordered. They were sent on the last cool day before the 100 degree weather. They threw in 1 free fish for my troubles. They...
Read moreQuite a few negative reviews, it is a hard business and shipping live fish is difficult. You have to have realistic expectations and be patient. The climate is different for everyone and no matter what you do, you may have dead fish. I ordered 50 small channel cats, it ended up being too late in the year and they were out of stock after I placed my order. I worked with customer service to upgrade my order to 20 mediums at no extra cost to me and live Aquaponics ate the extra shipping for me. I live in California while they are based in Florida, so I know the fish had a bit of a rough ride. I also did not receive a shipping notice, but this could just be technology, luckily I was home. Upon receiving them, one bag was leaking from the top but this would have only happened if the box was flipped or tossed (shippers fault). I did however open the box to find all the fish alive. One was floating upside down but still breathing, after some acclimating though he perked right up. They were released into my tank this morning and I fed them this afternoon, they all ate nicely and look healthy and active! My only concern is that they do seem to be underweight for their size. A few weeks of good feeding will make up for it though! So far my experience is positive and I would recommend giving...
