Sterilizing an animal to avoid its massive reproduction is a 5 star action. It is a pity that the service does not reflect such act from the Humane Society.
I just had my cat neutered yesterday. I hope the surgery and treatment my cat received were not even remotely as bad as the service and attitude I received. I got there at 7:00am trying to be the first, I wasn't the first one, but I was the second one. Good enough right!!! Parking lots have numbers 1 through 13 (that's how far I noticed) but unfortunately that does not help at all, neither how early you get there. Numbers are just to locate where the pet is, which they should use: cities, states, countries, colors, names, months, etc. Because my logic tells me, whoever is on parking space one is because he/she arrived first, and so on and so forth, right? Well no!!! The only thing that determines your pet's entry is the phone call. Yes, you have to call, WHICH IT SAYS IN THE SIGN, and email (it gives you the extension) what IT DOES NOT SAY IS THAT you have to leave a voicemail, (if not answered). I wasn't the only one, another lady; (number 1) was on hold for 35 minutes. Then when I finally got through, Tia answered the phone (THE RECEPTIONIST) and I questioned her, why they were helping others before me and the number 1 lady, she said that I had to call first, so I told her I did, but nobody ever answered⌠Bla bla bla, then she tells me in a very upset and rude way, I quote/paraphrase" "I have no time to argue with you. I CAN CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT RIGHT NOW ". Like it depends on her, like if she is in charge!!!!! *
I wasn't being rude, I had called a day before and also CHECKED MY MAIL and said to be patient and to expect a 10 to 15-minute wait, it is completely understandable, what is not, is that other people get helped before you, because their procedure IS NOT CLEAR!!!! We all have to go to work and I am not expected to be helped first because I asked "NICELY" I expected to be helped early because I got up earlier than usual, I drove there in time and I was there in time as well!!!! Not ON time but IN time. Then Dr. Lee has the audacity to call me and since I was driving, and did not answer, she left me a voice mail, pretty much saying "for the $40 dollars you pay here, what did you expect? High class service? Well no, go somewhere else, pay more and get a better service"; of course you have to "read" in between the lines, since it wasnât said like that, but in a very discrete way. I called back and left her a message, then she calls me again, RIGTH BEFORE GOING INTO SURGERY TO GET ME AND HERSELF UPSET. Because let's face it! Just like I told her, it was a bad move on her part to call me right before surgery when she "knows" (because that is what Tia told her) I AM VERY RUDE! I think Tia and one other Latina woman were rude to me, but I guess is just my perception, because they are "very good" as well as the Doctor like she said... "I am very good at what I do" âŚ.. Again, perceptionâŚ. I see myself as a nice person, I told herâŚ. Ah perception!!!! Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. I felt extremely special THE ACTUAL DOCTOR HAVING TIME TO CALL ME TWICE!!! Either that; or she has to do several jobs at the facility, because come on!!!! What doctor has time to be calling the patient's owners to "straighten them out"; I think that was her primary intention, but it looks feeble, puerile-(juvenile) and unethical on her part. ď
Dr. Lee also claims that they can refuse service to anyone who is not being "nice" to them. I guess it's fair since the service fee is only $40 right?????? I agree Dr. Lee let's be nicer next time!!!!! That goes for ALL OF US, YOUR STAFF INCLUDED AND ME. "It's very easy for someone to take sides, when they only know one of them". "Just remember there are always two sides to every story, and most of the time no one is completely innocent". "Always listen to both sides of the story before you come to a conclusion". "Beware of the half truth. You may have gotten hold of the...
Read moreHello.Today my husband and I went there for our 1st time to donate. Of course I read reviews about how bad this place was, how rude the employees are, how rough are the conditions for their pets and most important of all, I've read about how they take donations but they never use them. Well, all these bad reviews were shuttered today!!! We were greeted right when we walked inside and the front lady messaged the person I was in contact for the last days. His name is Rob and I've been fb chatting with him about the donations and my concerns related to the bad reviews out there. He was very friendly and he gave us a tour of the facility. GUESS WHAT? I've seen dogs with jackets on them, I've seen blankets, I've seen beds..I've seen a washer and dryer.THEY WERE ACTUALLY WASHING LOTS OF BEDS .Can you believe this? The kennels were clean and some were being cleaned while we were walking. Rob told us they were doing some construction and I've observed the doors to the kennels were closed so the dogs could be protected from smell and noise. I've also found out that the kennels without blankets it happened because the dogs chewed the blankets and the drains were blocked. Indeed, we saw 2 vans in the parking lot from a drain company (no free commercial here lol ) which were there to fix the drains. We donated beds, blankets, toys, pillow beds, sleeping bed, sweaters for dogs, a fully loaded Scion TC. My friend from work also donated lots of goodies, and the stuff was very friendly and happy. We got them even a box of donuts :) I should've taken some pics, but I've forgotten, plus I was on my lunch break.. I am not going to lie, at the beginning I was scared to donate when I found out about the bad reviews and I was even presented with other better shelters for my donations, but I wanted to see it with my own eyes. Even if the employees are bad, eventually if people keep donating they will end up using the stuff after all because how many beds and blankets the employees can take home (as some people assumed)???You can take 1-2 but you can't take 20 beds if you are having only 1-2 dogs correct? I am a foster (whenever my schedule allows me) for All Paws Rescue, but I am not affiliated with this shelter, so what I suggest is to go there, see for yourself and be the judge of whatever it is that you want to do. Of course some employees might have a bad day sometimes, but I wouldn't let a big fat lady from the front desk office(as I've read in some reviews) to stay between me and the dog I want to adopt. I am sorry, I haven't seen any dragon lady at the front desk, everyone was, like I said, super super friendly and they answered all my questions. It is a very stressful job working in a shelter (I've volunteered to one before in WA), there is tough decisions you have to make and YOU CAN'T MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY, but if you really want to make this place better, put a genuine attitude, a big fat smile and go get your dog/cat/rabbit/crow/ penguin or whatever is it that you like...if this still doesn't work, then tackle down the dragon lady :)...Just joking everyone!!! They have a new campaign: getting to zero, trying not to be a kill shelter,so go on to their website and support them with whatever you can donate or give, they always have special events and discounted vaccinations prices, special discounts...check their web :) Life is too short and there is so much evil in this world, try to do your part at least. Condolences to the victim's families from San Bernardino shooting, since it happened today. I wish Happy Holidays to all the employees and volunteers from Inland Valley Humane Society and to everyone who's...
Read moreIf I could give this place one star I would. Let me start by saying the people in this place are HEARTLESS, they don't care about any of the animals in this shelter all they care about is your MONEY. I beg of you, please don't take any animals to this kill shelter, they don't deserve it. I do hope that you take the time to read this review. I went to the shelter looking for my pup Leo, I had been out of state for the week and had barely got the chance to look for him. I looked through the kennels and finally found him! Excited my boyfriend and I went to the front to see how much it would be to get him out, please keep in mind that I am a full time Biology student and I didn't have the $300 to get him out. Looking for an alternative we decided to wait until his 10 day hold was up and adopt him for $145 since he had been there for 8 days already and an employee said that it would be fine as long as we had permission from the home owner. We went back on the 11th day when his hold was up and he would be put up for adoption, we got there 45 minutes before the adoption center opened so that nobody would take him but more importantly so that he wouldn't be euthanized (they can EUTHANIZE them after the hold and not put them up for adoption, totally humane right????). Anyways, we turned in the necessary paper work and had all the money collected they finally brought him out and he was so excited to see us!!! I teared up and said "Hey Lee, hey boy." The lady at the adoption center (Both are terrible and heartless the blonde supervisor and the brunette with the lifeless voice and eyes) then gave me serious attitude and asked me "Is this your dog?" Not thinking it would be an issue I answered "yes." She then started telling me that I couldn't adopt him that I needed to pay the $300 something dollars (It was more money since the price goes up everyday), not being able to pay it I told my boyfriend to adopt him. They then started telling me (very freakin' rudely) that he couldn't, that it was "Cheating the system" and dragged my dog out of the room. I pleaded with them but got back the reply "It's not our fault you can't afford to get your dog out." Angry and confused, we then told them that we'd have someone else do it without us. They then told us that he'd be put on a "hold list" so that NOBODY could adopt him. Basically they would rather an animal ROT in that pound than for him to go home because they are all about MONEY. Yeah, we yelled and cussed, but wouldn't you? We went out to the parking lot and sat in our car, calling people asking to borrow money to get him out. To our surprise THE COPS SHOWED UP. Yup, they called the cops on two 20 year olds trying to get their dog out of the pound, veryyyy threatening. We talked to them and they even thought it was BS and tried to reason with the blonde supervisor (or she devil) but to no avail. Basically we were told to pay up or get out. We left the premises and continued to look for money to borrow. After begging my whole family we busted my honey out later that day. My boyfriend, pup and I all celebrated by having a meal at the Lazy Dog. The people here aren't looking out for the animals, THEY ARE NOT A HUMANE SOCIETY. They are disgusting, sick people who want nothing more than the money in your wallet. Please before you take an animal here think twice, take a few days out of your life to try to find the owners of lost pets and if you do visit the shelter do so to save an animals life before it is unfairly taken. Leo is very happy to be home and I hope the heartless people there get what...
