We had the absolute pleasure of having Chef Mark- Savannah Event Catering and his team cater our wedding, and we couldnât be happier with the experience. From start to finish, they went above and beyond to ensure that every culinary detail was perfect, making our special day even more memorable.
One of the highlights of the evening was the pupusa station. He went and above to create this for us. This delightful touch honored the groomâs Latin heritage and was an absolute hit with our guests. The pupusas were made fresh on-site and were nothing short of spectacular.
The ceviche was another standout. It was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly seasoned, leaving our guests raving about it all night. The brie raspberry cups were a delicious surprise, offering a sweet and savory bite that everyone loved.
Knowing the groomâs love for tacos, Chef Mark created a gourmet taco station that was both elegant and reminiscent of street food flair. It was a perfect blend of sophistication and comfort, and the guests couldnât get enough.
For the brideâs Indian heritage, the team presented an array of Indian dishes that were authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Our Indian guests felt right at home with these delicious offerings, and it added a wonderful cultural touch to the celebration.
The seafood options were a massive hit as well, with every bite showcasing the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Every station, every dish was crafted with care and attention to detail.
Overall, Chef Mark Savannah Event Catering exceeded our expectations in every way. Their ability to blend different culinary traditions seamlessly and their commitment to quality and service was truly impressive. We couldnât recommend them more highly. Nothing but 5 stars!
Thank you, Chef Mark and team, for making our wedding day...
Read moreOverall: Wow, I was blown away by the menu I designed and tasted! Iâve never been to a mass-catered event and actually enjoyed the food, but dinner from SEC was DELICIOUS. Our guests have said it was some of the best wedding food theyâve ever had. If your goal is to avoid the dreaded âdry chicken breastâ wedding food, then SEC is for you. These folks actually season their food.
Communication: Mark and the team were so helpful. When I approached them I knew I wanted Jamaican food, but wasnât set on any specific items. Julia, the office administrator, and I had a phone call where she helped me design the ideal plate based on aesthetics (âthe vegetables next to that protein will look really appealing togetherâ), what SEC offered that was close to classic Jamaican dishes, and textures (âwell you donât want two saucy proteinsâ). At our tasting, Mark was so gracious to listen to my Boomer Jamaican mother explain what exact spices and ingredients he needed to add or replace to make a more authentic flavor, and I noticed Mark had put those notes in the updated version of the contract. The team was also so patient as we changed our minds throughout the year (adding coffee, removing coffee, adding salad, etc.)
Wedding Day: Wow, the food was amazing and really hit the spot after a long wedding day! Mark had really listened to and incorporated my momâs notes. You could taste the addition of the coconut milk to the rice and the allspice and tarragon on the oxtail-style braised beef. The team also operated really smoothly. They brought us (the couple) a tray with hors d'oeuvres since we missed cocktail hour and made sure we were fed first at the reception. The table settings looked lovely and the team looked very professional in...
Read moreSavannah Events Catering did an incredible job with the food and beverage for our weddingâeverything was absolutely phenomenal. The crab cakes were a huge hitâguests were literally following the servers around just to grab one! Chef Mark curated an amazing menu that accommodated a wide range of dietary needs, so everyone had something delicious to enjoy. Additionally, they were very flexible with the request to make a station a passed appetizer.
One of the standout features was the flaming donut bar, which our guests are still talking about, it was definitely a showstopper. We also did a food tasting ahead of time, which I highly recommend. Not only was it a wonderful experience, but it really helped us finalize our menu with confidence.
Our post-ceremony photos took longer than expected, so we unfortunately missed most of cocktail hour. But the catering team was incredibly thoughtful and passed a tray of appetizers to the getting ready room while I was getting my dress bustled. I really appreciated that extra touchâespecially since the food items were the ones Iâd been most looking forward to.
The only downside was some miscommunication around the setup. We were initially told the setup would be flexible depending on the event flow and weather and discussed this with our event coordinator who said it was relayed. However when we arrived day of and there was no forecast for rain, the tent was placed behind the fireplace, which unfortunately blocked the beautiful tree backdrop and affected some of our first...
