If you plan on learning your GED in a class with students at the same level as you, DO NOT GO HERE! You will be in a classroom with students studying different subjects at different levels. It’s like walking into a quiet library with no guidance or curriculum. You walk in, open a book, and sit awkwardly, wondering what to even ask your teacher. You will not be walking into a class and learning at the same pace as all your classmates. It is not a teacher teaching. If you expect a teacher to teach everyone in a hands-on/visual manner, that will not happen. The teachers just sit around and wait for students to ask a question. If you expect to learn with a class, you will not! The teacher’s just sitting there and judging students; don’t teach! What a big, giant disappointment! Also, if you’re a little different from other people, you may be judged based on your appearance or social status. I will never go back to being judged and treated the way I was treated. We come here to learn, grow, and be treated with respect, compassion, and kindness. Please, if you have any type of disability or physical issue, do not go here! You will be judged and told snarky, ruthless remarks under the breath of your teacher and classmates. You will be bullied and harassed for trying to learn. You will be treated like poop on a shoe all because you are trying to GRADUATE! If you are trying to follow a dream and struggling but giving your best, do it somewhere where you can keep your dignity and be treated like a human being. Spend your last dollar on a dream elsewhere! The point of school is to get smarter and go further and reach your goals. Not to feel like your stuckeye stupid and so many other horrible things. Absolutely disgusting behavior from adults. I am so disappointed and saddened by...
Read moreThe military advisors at IRSC (believe there is only 2) are unprofessional and do not act with a sense of urgency. Camilo Medina is who I was working with. First time I got in contact with him he was helpful, after that I sent him emails to which he never responded to about changing my path. When I did get in contact with him after several failed attempts after that we switched my path and I went into the campus and got registered for August. I was instructed by him to call him after getting registered for he can send my stuff over to the VA. That was over 2 weeks ago and I have not been able to reach him. Never calls back, it will be by chance that your able to get a hold of him and he won’t know where you left off in the process and will act like he didn’t get any emails or calls from you.. I called the VA today to see if they are tracking that I’m going back to school this month and they have nothing still.. now me getting benefits on September 1st ain’t happening because Camilo dropped the ball and didn’t do his job. That’s money I’m now missing out on. I called several times today just to be told by a lady who directs calls that if I really want to speak with him it’s best to come in person because they aren’t on top of their phone calls, really? Go 30 mins out of my way to sit there for an hour in a half just to tell Camilo you didn’t do what you were supposed to do, can you please do it? That’s total BS, I have a BBA and have worked with other colleges and military advisors before and I can say they are the worse here than I ever experienced. Makes me just want to drop classes and find somewhere else to study, which I...
Read moreDisclaimer: I have not taken any classes here, However, I have seen the campus and it is well kept. The labs are well equipped, up kept and generally good quality. Spoke to a student who was a senior for his bachelors in biotechnology and he was extremely knowledgeable about the courses and programs of study related to his field as well as seeming to be fairly intelligent, well educated, and mannered over all. It is a small but pretty campus where I would not mind spending time. The surrounding residential area is very nice as well, with newer shopping centers, a bustling commerce area, well paved roads, and favorable demographics (not researched on this, judging by appearance). The issues I had upon arriving were as follows: the student services office was inadequately staffed. This could have been a fluke because I arrived to campus on a Friday when there are hardly any classes in progress so fewer students on campus. Non-excusable though, was the female student behind the desk who I spoke to about the possibility of transferring there and she was relatively unknowledgable and not helpful in regards to information about courses offered, science related degree programs, nor did she know about the student population of the campus. Continually I was referred to visit the website myself for any information. She didn't even know if there indeed was a four year biology degree offered at her location. I did not speak with an adviser because there were none in at the time. Google actually lead me to the campus in error of outdated information as this campus of IRSC is no longer associated with FAU which withdrew from their premises and...
