Awesome staff, terrible company. Donât ever work for Lume, they donât care about their employees, promise to promote from within but hand over well deserved promotions to others outside of their location or outside of the company to get current employees to pick up their slack so upper management doesnât have to do their job and employees under them do it for them. Will fire you for minute mistakes that were never discussed with you/ never made aware of or even made by you while other employees or managers can have laundry lists of HR complaints against them with no repercussions. Giving the excuse that they need more training. Will only follow company policy when itâs convenient for them, they do not uphold the qualities of integrity they try to pass off to the public, and when any employee tries to uphold their policies they are met with retaliation especially if a manager is involved in breaking company policy or even caught trying to get employees fired. This company has whistleblowing policies but if you try to make upper management aware of any wrong doing they will sweep it under the rug and retaliate against anyone they deem fit and will go as far as deleting records that you were even employed with them to try to avoid a lawsuit.
Once upper management is out to get you youâre done in this company even if you actually didnât do anything wrong. And trust and believe they will come after you. The Area Manager and District Manager canât take criticism or anyone questioning their authority even if they are completely wrong and once they have an idea about you in their head they wonât believe anything else even if they are 1000000% wrong. Questioning authority isnât wrong and when management is in the wrong they should admit it, work on their assumption issues and move forward without costing the livelihoods of innocent employees, and seem to have a problem firing employees who commit actual offenses until the situation is so bad they have no choice but to fire them. But fire the most undeserving employees first chance they get once they decide they have it out for you.
They will also dangle a carrot in front of your face to get you to do work that is not in your work description/ position which is directly against policy but again only when itâs convenient for the AM and DM so they donât actually have to do their jobs. Also the DM is an ex cop so once he has any kind of opinion on you as a person you are irredeemable in his eyes and even if he is wrong he will not believe a word you have to say. He thinks he can make no bad decisions so this ego issue likely stems from his past employment as a police officer. That being said once he has it out for you he will ruin your life, as you would expect from a crooked cop. Doesnât matter if it isnât justified or even the right thing to do. Integrity and morals donât seem to be a very high priority to this company so if you donât have the best moral character feel free to apply, they will probably give you an entire store to run and pay you salary so you can steal and run it into the ground. They will just tell everyone under you to stop complaining because your boss just needs more team training. The anti retaliation policies in the employee handbook hold no water, back to my statement above once a higher up like the AM or DM has it out for you youâre done in this company. Long story short I came to pick up my CURBSIDE order and the young boy who was working made a very rude and snarky comment saying âyou could have just come in the store!â I replied that I can not just come in the store because I was high risk. He didnât have anything to say. There was 0 customer service. I was medical and he tried to overcharge me; which happens often. I did shop there all the time and I was just there for the black Friday deal, there was one of the gift bags left and the worker let their friend in front of me so they got the last gift bag.
