Dollar General — Local services in Porter

Will NEVER shop at this store again. I am in this store at least twice a week, UNTIL NOW. I have wanted SEVERAL times before to post a bad review but havent, UNTIL THIS TIME. I am normally not the kind of person to complain or get rude.But, I am FED UP WITH THIS STORE and I will now take this opportunity to complain about EVERYTHING I have ever wanted to complain about.To start with, I will say I was FUMING when I left the store this evening. I was in line to check out with 6 people in line in front of me, 6 ORDERS to be checked out. I asked the cashier, very kindly at this point, for the bathroom key cuz my 3 1/2 year old nephew had to use the restroom. Keep in mind, he has not been potty trained that long. The cashier rudely and with an attitude replied, "Nope, the bathroom has been vandalized 1 too many times." "No more public restroom use." The tone in her voice sounded as if she was enjoying telling me that I could not let my 3YEAR OLD use the restroom. It was like she was scolding ME for the vandalism. She was NOT AT ALL apologetic to the fact that the store would not allow my 3 YEAR OLD to use the restroom. It was as if she was laughing at me the entire time. I then told her, still very nice at this point, that he is gonna have an accident if he couldnt go. She replied to me, "THEN YOU WILL BE CLEANING IT UP." I was HOT. How dare an employee say that to a customer. If I was to spill a drink in the store would they make me clean that up? At this point, I did become some what rude and replied, "Oh, no I will not." She then, in a smart tone, with a smile on her face, LAUGHING said, "my name is ** and if you would like to call corporate, go ahead, they agree with me." I was so mad at this point I was shaking. I should have left my FULL cart there and left. But, I didnt. I checked out. I had to bag half my own stuff cuz she just set it on top of the bagging area. Sorry, but bleach needs to be in a bag, especially if its a small thing of bleach. It could leak in my car. I put the bleach, laundry softner and shout all in 1 bag myself. Small items like that should be bagged or I should at least be asked if I want it in a bag. I normally have to ask them to bag items like that at this store and it makes me mad every time. This would be another complaint I have with this store. This time, under the circumstances, I bagged it myself. The cashier proceeded to call me HUN twice during this transaction. I somewhat RUDELY told her to Please NOT call me HUN. I was so upset by this point and she was not hesitating to be RUDE to me so I became a little rude with her. You dont call someone HUN. It is rude, demeaning and just plain BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. This offends most people but they never say anything. Most companies teach their employess that you dont call people HUN, SWEETY, ETC.This cashier does this everytime I am in there and it makes me mad. This time, I was not letting it go. I guess DOLLAR GENERAL DOESNT CARE IF THEIR CUSTOMERS ARE OFFENDED. If they cared about their customers being offended, they would make their employees cover up their tattoos and piercings, another complaint of mine. I dont care to see this and I dont care to have my children see this. Most reputable companies and corporations have a rule about any and ALL visable tattoos and piercings be covered.The store is ALWAYS dirty. The employees are NOT EVER friendly. The shelves are empty half the time. Half the aisles have those big metal carts with merchandise to be stocked in them so you cant push a shopping cart down the aisle. I have seen the same cart in the same spot 3 days in a row before. I have been hit on 3 times before while trying to check out. I am married and this makes me feel disgusting. This is a form of sexual harrassment. I have had to listen to employees personal conversations on 4 occasions. Topics such as being hung over, bad mouthing other employees, and their financial problems and borrowing money from other employees til payday. This store IS NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY STORE.Stay away from...

Disgusting store. Can't even move around this place because huge carts are at the ends of the aisles. If I walk in 15 minutes before closing, they tell me multiple times of how many minutes I have left to shop. The place is just gross. The workers are RUDE and EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL. One of the workers hit on my boyfriend right in front of me saying how nice he looked in a particular shirt he was wearing. That was last July. I did so well with not going back there, but I Had to go back recently for something. I feel like every time I go there, what I need is not in stock. Workers chat on the phone while they ring you up, so you can hear all about their room mates/boyfriends/parents/friends and any other drama. I only go here if it is an emergency. I just came from there this store has always had problems understaffed floors are filthy stock is never out away cleaning is terrible and the girl that they have there now she's great worker and tells me she leaving for another job it's pretty sad corporate don't even fix the doors you have to manually open them yourselves and they close at 530 pm this store has to have some lame management Corp needs to stand up I see a lawsuit coming on if them doors don't get fixed just do us a big favor and...
