Bird Alliance of Oregon Nature Store — Local services in Portland

My wife and I visited the store today to shop for binoculars. They have a very good selection of optics, several different brands, and binoculars at all price points. We were greeted at the door by Janet, who was helpful and kind and patient with us. She pulled out seven different pairs of binoculars to try and my wife and I spent 30 minutes outside testing them all. There are other places to buy optics, but not every store provides the chance to spend a good long time looking through the binos outside under real light. I drove a injured or sick gold finch to a emergency animal place and was told the Bird Alliance would give me an update. When I called this place they couldn't give any information other than someone who gives updates does so on the 1st and 15th of each month. I have not received any updates on the outcome. I dont know why they make it a big secret. Someone takes the time to drive a long way to get the bird help, atlease they could be considerate enough to give the person a update. So disappointed...

Quite possibly, and likely, the largest collection of bird related books in one place. So many titles from field guides to species specific to memoirs. Not to mention the locally made bird feeders, stationary, and souvenirs to commemorate a life amongst the birds. A great shop with a great mission.
