I had purchased a dresser from Mission Craft Furniture. It was extremely unfortunate to find that my beautiful dresser had lychtid beetles coming from two drawer fronts (the gestation period for lychtid beetles is 12 months). I took the two drawer fronts back to Mission Craft and spoke with the owner, Ted Imel. He said he would speak to his supplier. The following weekend, Ted picked up the dresser. I asked him "what are your plans for the dresser". He said and I quote "I have no choice but to replace it". Nearly six weeks later his employees delivered the same infested dresser passing it off as a newly built dresser. I did not allow the dresser back into my home, just as I would never allow a mattress with bed bugs into my home!!
After speaking with several professionals, hiring one to do an inspection to prove to Mr. Imel that the bugs did not come from my home, all said they would have never allowed that dresser into their homes. After months of trying to reason with Mr. Imel that I should NOT have to risk my home of infestation, his reply was "if you don't like it, then sue me!" I wrote both the Attorney's General and the Better Business Bureau. Ted did not respond to either one of their requests. I filed for Small Claims, Ted did not refute the claim and I was granted the small claims judgment in July of 2011. He has not paid this claim.
Four months after opening a claim with the BBB and eight months after writing the Attorney's General, Mr. Imel told both that he would make payments towards the judgment. By responding to their requests, it is the policy of both the Attorney General's and the BBB to close the claim. These organizations do not follow up to ensure that Mr. Imel does what he says he will do. He has promised several times to me that he would make payments. As of September 2012, he has never made any payments.
It has been over a year and after court fees, lawyer fees and garnishment attempts my $1800 dresser has turned into a $2400 nightmare! No one should have to go through this! Ted Imel does NOT tell the truth and he enjoys playing games!!
I now have a dresser made in China and Ted Imel has my money and the...

I recently had the pleasure of ordering a handcrafted wood bed from the master woodworkers at Mission Craft in Portland, and I can't say enough about the incredible experience! From start to finish, the process was seamless and personal, making me feel like a valued customer every step of the way.
First off, the quality of the craftsmanship is unparalleled, and far superior to the foreign made Thuma bed I had been looking at. The bed I ordered is a true work of art, meticulously crafted from solid wood that I was able to handpick myself. Mission Craft offers an impressive selection of wood types, allowing me to choose the perfect material to match my home's aesthetic. The fact that their products are 100% made in the USA, right here in the Pacific Northwest, was a major selling point for me. It's clear that they take immense pride in their work, and it shows in every detail.
What really set Mission Craft apart was the level of customization they offered. I was able to tailor the design to my exact specifications, ensuring that the bed was not just a piece of furniture, but a unique reflection of my style and needs. The team was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the design process, providing expert advice and ensuring that every detail was perfect.
They even ship for FREE nationwide! Despite being on the opposite coast, the bed arrived in pristine condition, carefully packaged to protect the beautiful craftsmanship. The delivery was prompt and hassle-free, which made the whole experience even better.
If you're looking for custom wood furniture that's built to last, with the kind of craftsmanship and attention to detail that's hard to find these days, look no further than Mission Craft. Their products are an investment in quality, and the pride they take in their work shines through in every piece. I couldn't be happier with my new bed, and I'll definitely be returning for more custom furniture in the future....
Read moreI don't recommend Mission Craft Furniture and warn you to stay away. There is an extreme lack of customer service by the owner Ted. He should consider hiring a professional to interact with his customers.
I found MCF on Instagram and called about ordering (3) beds in a style that was shown on the website. Ted told me he could make the bedframes to match the picture and in a custom finish. I paid the total amount upfront because he was having a "sale" and he would give me 20% off if I paid right away. He never gave me an invoice, even though I asked for one.
Prior to fabrication I asked if I could add headboards to the bedframes. Ted said it would be $500 more per frame to add them. I paid $1500 for (3) headboards, and again no receipt. I also asked about the custom finish. He became irate and said that wasn't something he would do.
I had to send him numerous emails asking when the beds would ship. Ted finally shipped them to me after a few months of requests. The bedframes he sent were not the same style as the picture and there were only (2) headboards.
I have been asking for the third headboard for about 7 months. I even offered to pay more just to get it. Ted responds by text and says he's shipped it, but it's never arrived.
It’s too bad Ted chose not to work this out with me because I would have ordered more furniture from him. Instead, I had to leave a bad review.
Follow up note: Mission Craft finally shipped a headboard. I wasn't notified that it had shipped, and it sat on my front porch for 2 weeks while I was gone. I was happy to see it had arrived though. I hired someone to install it, and he just notified me that it doesn't fit the frame. The queen size frame is 60" and the headboard sent by Mission Craft is 63" wide. Such a waste of...
