Grooming staff is very rude and unwelcoming. They made me feel uncomfortable and like we were burdening them.
First, I arrived a little early to my appointment for my dogs and the girl that greeted us said in a condescending tone that she’ll get us checked in at the actual time of our appointment. I left and came back later to check them in.
When handing over my dogs, I explained how one of them, Loba, has anxiety and gets very nervous around people. The lady seemed to understand but about 10 minutes after I left, she calls me to tell me that my dog is acting out and she’s not going to be able to perform services… like did you even TRY to be a little patient or gentle in your approach to her? I’ve never had a groomer turn my dog away and I’ve been to other petcos many times with her. On top of that, her delivery was very cold and also condescending. I especially did not like how she said “so I’m going to need you to come pick your dog up” after explaining what’s going on. It just felt very unwelcoming. She offered to continue with our second dog but felt annoyed by the idea of keeping Loba in the kennel and hinted that she’d prefer I pick her up now, then our second dog later.
I went with my gut and declined to continue services. I did not feel like I could trust my fur babies with them. I called them back to let them know and the girl who answered the call was also a bit rude lol. Is anyone who works here actually kind...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars I would. I began taking my emotional support dog here and I had a reasonably good experience. I booked again and when I got there the person behind the counter told me they were canceling my appointment because of my dogs vaccinations were expired. I showed them to her since I had them on my app and she still declined to see us. When I expressed my frustration she started screaming at me that she had already called another customer and I did not have a spot anymore. She was so loud that my dog got nervous and hid behind me. I requested a supervisor and she screamed at me she was the manager. I asked for her boss and the store manager came and talked to me after telling her I was not leaving until she call him. He apologized and said he was going to have a talk with her. I do not trust her to be around my dog since she was so intimidating to her. I would not be surprised if she had multiple complaints because her customer service skills are non existent. I will not be bringing my dog to a place like that again. She refused to identify her self other that screaming she was a manager or her name would be going on this review. I found a much better groomer that took me in the same day and she was awesome, but I figured I would save people the aggravation and possible harm...
Read moreI won't be returning. My labradoodle was groomed there in June and then I had an appointment for the end of July, she had some matting on her belly. They told me that the matting was too bad and she needed to be referred to a Vet because it was so bad. They wouldn't even give her a bath or trim around her eyes because it was their policy to "stop all services" when they determine that he matting was too bad. My vet was booked out 4 months, and back up vet was booked out 3 months, so i was able to get her in with a 4 week wait to another vet. The vet told me that I needed a new groomer because her matts were not that bad and petco should not be referring to vets unless the dogs need to be sedated. She told me that is the only reason that a groomer should refer to a vet and that petco should have told me to go to another groomer, but they don't do that because of competition. The very nice vet was able to get me to to the groomer next door who said her matts were not a problem and gave her a good cut. The vet said she could shave her but it made her sad because she would look so bad since vets don't do that, they aren't groomers. Petco really needs to change their policy and just tell people that they don't have the skills to deal with matts and not refer dogs to the already...
