Unfortunate update

I unfortunately can’t recommend this place any longer. The primary reason, as a person with allergies, is the flippant manner in which one of the employees over the phone answered my questions about a pizza topping that was never supposed to be on my pizza in the first place, containing cashews. Her response to me saying “I’m allergic to cashews, does this mystery topping have cashews in it” was “Well there’s cashews all over this place”. Cool. Thanks for informing me how unsafe it is to eat at your establishment, lady. Why even bother labeling what has nuts in it if you don’t give a crap whether you contaminate your customers food?

Since I’m here, the reason I made that phone call in the first place was because I ordered the same thing that I always ordered and got a totally different pizza. There were no updates on the website and no one informed me when I picked up the pizza that anything was different. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized they hadn’t given me what I ordered. This wasn’t a mistake either, it was intentional because they can’t get one of the main ingredients for the pizza (bacon on The Brother Wilton). I was literally told that they “threw something together” and then tried to pass it off as the same thing (not even close and it doesn’t taste good). When I called to ask what was up they acted like this was a perfectly acceptable course of action, it obviously isn’t.

Even though this used to be my favorite spot to go, I won’t be eating here anymore. I’m not sure if they changed owners, or what, but I’ve been coming here for literal years and it’s like a complete 180. What a shame.

I’ve been going to Secret Society Pizza since they opened and they have never disappoint. Their pizzas are their own unique creations, they’re not trying to re-create non-vegan flavors which I think is one of the reasons why their pies are so magical! From the crust (both gluten and gluten free crusts are AMAZING) to the toppings, I’m pretty sure this is the best pizza in Portland!

Beyond having the best pizza in Portland, the owners and employees are just genuinely kind people. I love supporting a business that not only provides delicious food, but is also run by...

My birthday was a few days ago so when I went to go visit my grandpa, he wanted to buy me a birthday dinner so we decided to get something delivered, and we both were in the mood for pizza. So I saw the great ratings and read through a few reviews at this place and decided to order.

I ended up ordering the Mount Boring and the BBQ Cobb for me and the Caesar salad for him. The grand total came to $56 dollars and some change to get a pizza and two salads delivered just four miles up the road, which seems to be a bit excessive, but I could be wrong.

And I do realize that Secret Society is not responsible for what Doordash does, but I just have to mention that the guy who came to the door with our food couldn't speak English at all, which made for a very frustrating interaction so we could get our food from him. He kept asking us for some number. We had no idea what he was talking about, but eventually we starting thinking he was talking about my gpa's PIN number, so reluctantly we gave it to him and he kept saying "no,".

And we were confused and kept saying why do you need his PIN if we already paid!? It was very frustrating. Eventually I remembered about Google translate and so we finally figured out that he needed a confirmation number. So we were finally able to get our food.

First observation we made was how small the pizza was. For $15 we were hoping for a bigger pizza.

Second thing was the salads, both of them had an overload of dressing on them, and my grandpa's croutons on his Caesar were all already soggy.

I will say though, that I did really like the crust, it was so delicious. I could have just eaten it on its own and would have been happy. It's that good. And besides having too much dressing on my BBQ Cobb, my salad...

This place is awesome, small and cozy inside, good atmosphere and aesthetic. VERY DELICIOUS FOOD!! The Mount Boring helped my mom move past dairy into a whole nother more vibrant healthy colorful very delicious world. Was a great introduction to her new food situation!

Good folks working here, helpful, patient, kind with all my mom's questions and when I go in and wanna try something new - very helpful! All of the pizzas I've tried so far have been delicious!!

-Great place to bring a friend, cozy space, good energy. -Great for Takeout too, orders done quick! Can call, order online, or go in and hang out in a very cool space. -Really great pizza to serve at gatherings!! If you aren't sure about what everyone can eat, these work for most folks. Vegan, gluten free, non dairy, options and still very delicious. Real thoughtful consideration for food allergies seems to already be a part of their process. -Made fast too, ordered 4 for takeout recently and they were ready in under 20min! Fed a bunch of lovely friends who all had different food situations.

These pizzas are also gorgeous, just really look so good!! Wish I'd gotten a photo but they get eaten fast, too...

The best vegan organic restaurant I’ve experienced in the Pacific Northwest. This is “Old Portland” at its finest; earthy, homey, extremely friendly, so generous on pricing, and the food is both comforting and extremely energizing! I don’t do great with wheat, but their unique organic pizza crust is magical in taste and digestion! Gluten free available. Most everything made from scratch in-house. You can choose slices of vegan cake (sweet enough but not overly sweet!), delicious potato salad, perfect pasta salad, raw vegan pie slices, a variety of homemade pestos, the best local hot sauce I’ve ever had, and more. I like to eat here not only for the extreme food quality and taste, but also to be immersed in the relaxed, laid-back field of renewal that employees provide. One small but powerful point: I love drinking sparking water… they have a large selection at $1 a can! Unheard of!! The owner said he simply can’t charge more than that for a can of water. The same brand sold in individual cans at other restaurants is often $4!! The other reviews and ratings speak for themselves. My favorite restaurant for all the above reasons.

First all of all i should start out by saying I'm NOT vegan (yes I do like meat)! But with that being said, my buddy is vegan so I try to find vegan places when I'm out with him. I guess the "Secret" is out on the Secret Pizza Society! The pies are amazingly delicious! I got a faux chicken pizza and the flavors were so well done that I couldn't even tell it was vegan. I've had pizza from a different vegan pizza place in Portland and it was horrible. The cheese tasted fake and it ruined the experience for me. But....SPS somehow used such high quality ingredients that even the cheese tastes "real". The crust was some of the best crust I've ever had on a pizza and I guess it's gluten free. Not even sure how you make anything gluten free taste this good! Great pizza palace for vegans and meat eaters alike!
