Incredible! I was absolutely impressed with the layout of this nursery. I appreciated the ease in being able to find the plants I was looking for because of the attention to detail that was given. The plants were alphabetically organized which was genius on their part! So smart.....something I wish all nurseries would take the time to do for their customers. Also, your selection of plants were spot on! You had an an amazing Echinacea collection. Very impressive. Your shade loving plants were fantastic. I had been around to almost eight different nurseries the week I stopped by your nursery looking for a Fern Bleeding Heart. You were the ONLY place that carried it. I had almost given up and then, there it was! Thank you! Also, your staff from the moment I walked in was exceptional. From greeting me, to asking if I needed assistance, to offering advice to complimenting my plant choice selection. My experience at your nursery was lovely. I love gardening. It’s a passion. I ended up with a few friends that day, two small trees, and a few perennials. When I returned home, I realized that I had unfortunately grabbed a version of a flower I already had and that I had meant to grab a different variety that I was so excited that you were carrying. I quickly called your store back, knowing that you were about to close for the weekend your employee who answered the phone was beyond friendly and told me I could stop by on Monday morning to exchange the plant for the one I meant to get. Truth is, I will keep the plant I accidentally grabbed. We have spent nearly $1000 here over the past couple of weeks, but will no longer support this local business. We went there two days in a row and dealt with the same unpleasant woman who acted as though we were bothering her with our questions both times! The first time, I thought maybe she was upset because as she was ringing us up, I asked one of the other staff members (Sue - who is wonderful) who we have been working closely with if I could pick her brain about a recommendation she had made. But when we returned the second day to purchase a single tree for $300, this woman's attitude was perhaps even nastier than the first encounter! To my understanding this woman is the owner and I have no intention of spending my money to support someone who cannot even be bothered to act as though they want my business. Perhaps if they don't want customers who have questions, they should be open only to landscaping companies and such and not be open to the general public. Very disappointed in Northland Nursery. I purchased a maple tree for a decent price end of season last year. They let me know it was root bound, but told me it would do well if I planted it promptly and followed some steps they provided.

I planted it within 2 days and followed the steps, but it did not survive the winter. 95% of the buds failed to go to leaf, and now I have a stump of a tree that I'll probably have to tear out completely.

The other maple I planted from a different local nursery is doing great (as pictured).

When I asked them about it, they wanted me to buy more products from them to try and save it. I asked them if they could help out with a replacement because I need privacy now. They told me no, because they don't guarantee discounted plants.

1. That would have been nice to know when I bought it
2. I wasn't even asking for a free replacement, I was simply asking them to help me out on the price
