In the first week of March, I did a Private 1-on-1 session at the Baton Rouge location. I explained my situation regarding a need for help with extreme reactivity for my rescue, and that we were on a time crunch because she is heartworm-positive and needs to receive treatment as soon as possible. I was told before the lesson that we would go over, in great detail, how to train towards reduced reactivity. I was also told that I would be able to contact the trainer after the session with any questions or concerns. The session was one hour of him talking about himself, his dogs, other clients, a few little snippets of training knowledge, and him tossing treats to my dog. At the end of the session, he emailed me a list of instructions to continue with and told me to email him with any questions or concerns. When an issue arose three weeks later, I emailed him. After one week of waiting for a response, I called the location and asked to speak with him. When he called back I explained the issue we were having and reinforced the time crunch, I was told that I should be happy with the progress I've seen in the first month, which is essentially no progress. I was told to continue using the lessons provided in the first email, so I did. Now fast-forward another two weeks; We finally have a small breakthrough. I email Patrick to inquire how to build off of this breakthrough to continue training. No response now after nearly two weeks. I feel extremely let down, as Patrick was a customer of mine for several years at the store I used to work at, and I recommended him to tons of other customers over the years, because I figured if he was the Training Director there for so long, he must be doing things right. I am appalled at the service I received, and I will never suggest Camp Bow Wow or any of their services to anyone in the future. We have wasted nearly two months that I could have been getting my dog trained by someone more competent, and have potentially harmed my pet's health by having to delay her treatment as a result of Patrick's "Training" methods. I have already reached out to Corporate regarding a refund. If you want dog training, Do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointed in my experience here. I took my dog to the prairieville location due to this one not having availability and it was amazing! Used the Baton Rouge location this time and I would NOT recommend. The frustrating part is I know my dog does not eat plain dry food EVER so I brought chicken and told them I put it on her food so she will eat⦠when I picked her up the Tupperware was still full and very warm meaning they did not even put it in the fridge. When I asked for her consumption report they kept ignoring the question where I called them out saying my dog doesnāt eat plain food which means she hasnāt eaten in 3 days. All they said was āsometimes things get lost in communicationā however, I watched the front desk girl write down the instructions when I dropped her off and said it was totally normal to bring food add ins.
She was limping extremely bad where I had to take her to the vet, get blood work and x ray done (spent 200$+). When I dropped her off she was completely fine. They seriously told me that she was limping because she lays down too muchā¦when I called back I was told 3 times a manager was going to look at the cameras to see what happened and now they are telling me they donāt have timeā¦
She was covered in pee!! I understand if there was a little on her but her legs and belly were covered in pee! I wish they would have warned me because I would have paid for a bath.
I was warned the customer service/staff wasnāt that great and I didnāt believe it, but I canceled the rest of my reservations and will never take her back there. I seriously feel bad for my poor girl that she was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI made an appointment to bring my dog in several weeks in advance. I made sure to review all of the information available online about what was required to place him here. I also asked questions of the scheduler and they reviewed, again, the vaccination and other requirements for him to be placed there.
On the day of his trial visit, we spent about 10 minutes getting checked in and reviewing all of his information. I dropped him off for a trial play day at the beginning of my work day. After about 2 hours, I was called and told that he was not allowed to participate because he was heartworm positive and the facility could not risk him being overexerted. That is a completely reasonable restriction for the facility and for a heartworm positive dog. However, this information was never requested in advance, and this incredible waste of time and energy could have been avoided.
There is no information in the forms or on the website that provides notice that he was to be turned away because of the condition. There was no discussion of his status when scheduling or when we checked in. Additionally, I was told that I needed to pick him up immediately. I lost of chunk of my day because Camp Bow Wow could not provide important and accurate information at any point in my interactions. He could have been placed in one of the bunks or sleeping areas until I arrived at an agreed upon time, if exertion was a concern. This carelessness in the provision of information and in customer relations is the reason for the rating. I would not trust the facility enough for me to recommend that a friend bring...
