I had a fantastic time hiking at Mt. Wachusett! Some of the trails pleasantly surprised me—they were moderately challenging but so much fun, winding through various types of vegetation. Everyone I encountered on the hike was friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. There are numerous trails to explore, and I chose to follow the Midstate Trail. I’m definitely returning for more discoveries.
One of my favorite parts was the incredible variety of mushrooms. I was absolutely amazed by the different colors and types I encountered—I’ve never seen so many in one place!
Although I had to drive 40 minutes to get to the trailhead, it was totally worth it. On the way back, I met two kind older ladies who generously offered me a ride back to my car after I inadvertently ended up farther from my starting point than I had planned.

For a rookie during extreme circumstances I can’t complain. Rentals were easy to navigate and the beginner trails were good for me. I was able to figure it out in no time. The resort is clean and they have it setup to accommodate everyone! I only wish I could get more then 3 hours so I could keep up the flow once I get it going. The lines here are much longer then other places so it feels like I don’t have enough time to find my footing and get to that next level before it’s time to go again. Other mountains are offering longer packages and for a beginner I found that A lot more helpful. But all in all it’s still working...

With maybe a table spoon of onions? 😬 I'm a small lady and could have eaten 3 or more of those. We did buy more but still add some fries or a drink with that sad of a plate! Otherwise from what I see everyone is doing the best they can following Covid Regulations and enforcing them strictly. Very appreciative of this. And keeping things very clean & up on the snow. Its...
