This facility has great potential, is in a great location, has great reviews but......if your dog is there I'd recommend doing an impromptu drop by. Ive tried and will post before &after photos of my dog and her food container as proof this facility is careless. I brought her in on Monday, she stayed overnight and Tuesday morning I woke up with a bad feeling so I went to check on her because I was considering having her boarded until Friday. Upon arrival I asked to see her just to check on her before I made a decision and was advised not to, " because she won't understand why you're leaving her again". My dog has been boarded and been in daycare multiple times and never have I been discouraged from seeing her or checking in, of course I've never had a worried feeling about the wellbeing of my dog to this degree. When I saw her I was in shock, her eyes were puffy, swollen and glazed and her nose had a large knot and bloody scratch on it and she appeared out of sorts. When I said we'd be taking her the staff mood changed. It only got worse from there.... her bed I had just laundered was wet. I was told they had cleaned at 10, it was now 1:15. It wasn't damp, it was wet to the point I was glad I had a plastic bag in my car big enough to put it in and it stunk horribly. I was told " sometimes the girls don't squeegee the water all the way out and I've discussed this with them before" um looks like they didn't dry it at all before they put her bed back in there and apparently it's a repeated offense. I then asked what was used to clean when I noticed on my dogs food bin there was a white powdery residue/water spots all over it from when they cleaned and obviously didn't even move her food which was placed at the front of her kennel... when i heard "comet" my stomach sank. I immediately threw out an entire bin of brand new food. They had noted my dog was " a picky eater" . Was it because someone got a little careless with their cleaning duties? My dog has a healthy appetite and I've watched her eat almost anything my 6yr old gives her / that is dropped on the ground. For her not to devour her food is a red flag.
I was told in regards to her red and swollen eyes, " there is a lot of dust and dirt in the air and several dogs eyes have swollen". I may believe that if we didn't just moved from east Texas where she roams 1200 acers, runs behind 4wheelers&go-karts and wallows in any water available. Never have her eyes ever looked this way even when she was bitten by a snake... that she ate by the way.
If the staff has to be repeatedly reminded to make sure the floor of the kennel is dry enough to put the pets bedding down and doesn't take the time to move my pets container of food... would I not question the fact toxic chemicals are used in cleaning and may not be fully washed away before dogs are let back into their kennels? Was my dog even removed from her kennel when the kennel next to her /the walkway was cleaned out? Was there comet in her food or bowl and thats why she didn't eat anything? Did she breath the toxic fumes or absorb it thru her paws? There are products that are non toxic for both humans and animals that can be used to clean and sanitize. What is scary is that I was told and have seen in the Facebook posts other dogs have similar symptoms. As for the knot and cut on her nose, I was told "it's because we have fencing, chain link, and the dogs will get excited and rub their faces...". So what is my non aggressive dog getting so excited about that she's physically hitting a fence so hard she's hurting herself to the point of bleeding and causing swelling to occur ? Also why was the facility full minus one kennel but my social dog was only allowed to play with one dog... surely not every other dog there was aggressive? My dog has friends of all all sizes and ages I'm still curious about that. I have since flushed my dog's eyes out multiple times, made sure she drinks tons of water, bathed her, cleaned her bedding, tossed the food &the bin. She is thankfully doing better each day, the swelling is not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYAY! Five stars!!! After an absolutely horrible boarding experience at Rover in McKinney I was terrified to leave my babies at a kennel. I left Cayenne and Pepper (Both under 25 lbs) at Fetch Me Later for nine days to travel out of town and was worried every minute, but they were more than fine and so so happy when I picked them up! I chose an indoor outdoor suite, and was happy Fetch Me Later offered add-ons like puppy ice cream, popsicles, lick mats, and stuffed Kongs. I paid for a few additional yard times, but at no extra cost the doggies were able to use the outdoor areas on the own each day at my request. When I picked them up they had been bathed and looked well cared for. They returned all of the items I brought with them in great condition and my dogs were high energy and happy. Fetch Me Later was recommended by a friend, and I am definitely going to be passing along the recommend to anyone who asks! Next time we travel I will feel better knowing I have a place I can leave my pups and know they will be cared for. Thank you, Fetch...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLeaving my 5-month-old Pitbull Khaleesi at Fetch Me Later while I embarked on a cruise felt like leaving a child at daycare for the first time ā nerve-wracking to say the least. However, the moment I walked in, the friendly staff surrounded Khaleesi, showering her with attention and immediately easing my worries.
Throughout Khaleesi's stay, Fetch Me Later went above and beyond. I received an update the second day about her adventures and playtime with other dogs, which truly reassured me. But what truly impressed me were the little touches: a personalized report card detailing Khaleesi's new friends' names and a Valentine's Day picture (for which I happily contributed to charity).
Not to mention, Khaleesi's dietary needs and medications were effortlessly accommodated, demonstrating Fetch Me Later's dedication to her well-being.
Without a doubt, if I ever need boarding services again, Fetch Me Later will be my first choice. Thank you for your exceptional care and...
