Provo College is honestly the best decision I have ever made hands down. Before I decided to attend here, I had been studying at UVU. One of the prerequisite courses was anatomy and physiology. I dedicated my heart and soul into that class, and I got a C-. I failed just like the other half of my classmates. That class is unreasonably difficult, and I felt like most people had to take it twice to barely pass. I felt like my future as a nurse was compromised even though I KNEW that was what I wanted to pursue. I couldn't take the course again becasue it was way too stressful, and I had just had a baby. I then discovered Provo College's website online and decided to look into it. I was interested in it because a lot of the classes were held online as well as on campus. After I read some reviews, I was immediately turned off by the idea of going here. A few days later, I got a call from the school asking if I had any questions, and if I would like a tour. I was extremely skeptical and was so sure it wasn't going to work out. After all was said and done, I decided to give it a shot. I just felt really good about everything, even though my mind at the time said it was risky. I've learned more in the last 2 semesters than I thought I ever could. This is the first time I have ever been a straight A student in my entire life, and I suffer from a learning disability that doesn't always agree with singular teaching methods. I will say that the effort you put in is what will push you towards success. The class sizes are small so you really get to know everybody on a more personal level, and feel like a family. My anatomy teacher Andy really made an effort to get to know us, and to prepare us for the best learning atmosphere possible. He also made it really fun too which was a definite plus! :) I also love that this school is accredited, and has a cadaver lab too just like UVU did. You get real hands on experience here, and so many opportunities to learn and grow with each other. Pretty much every one in my class was either married, working, or had kids (or even all 3). This program is able to fit around people's schedules and accommodate busy lives. Financial aid is also amazing too! Lena really goes out of her way to help you out and make time for you. Everyone is genuine here and they definitely don't treat you like a number. They really do want you to succeed! I don't know why there were so many hateful reviews in the past, but things definitely changed ever since. Best...
Read moreI am currently in the Bachelors of Nursing program nearing the end of my first year. I have watched students who do not stay on top of their studies and financial aide status, get disgruntled when they end up failing or receive "unexpected" bills. There are several resources for students to go to check their grades, GPA, loan/grant status, and money owed to the school so unless there was a true discrepancy on the schools part, there is not an excuse for not knowing that information. They also send out e-mails frequently to keep students up to date on their loan status, grades, and other important information. They not only offer traditional scholarships, grants, and loans, but they also have worked within my budget for payment of my balance, where as my previous university expected a set amount irregardless of my budget. When I began searching for a nursing program after my MA, I looked at many different schools. I decided on Provo College because they have small class sizes, amazing instructors who are familiar with all of the students, no prerequisites before entering the actual program, (all core required classes are integrated into the nursing program throughout the course.) no required Associates degree to receive the Bachelors, and a much shorter program (3 years instead of 5 for the BSN). They were recently approved for national accreditation with flying colors by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). The program has many online classes which are convenient for differing schedules and their books are mostly online. It is really nice to be able to do homework and textbook reading on my phone or tablet when I am out and about or at work on a break. I really do love this school and would recommend it to anyone wishing to further their education in all of the...
Read moreThis is my 3rd time attending Provo College. First time after they made the switch to just nursing and PA courses. Each time I've gone its just gotten worse. This past time with the nursing program was all over the place, I didnt have people reaching out to me with my schedule etc, I had to reach out and call multiple people to see if I was even good to go on the first day of school and get my schedule. After finishing my first semester I had my financial aid advisor call and tell me she messed up on my credits and financial aid so I owed them even more money and they were changing my payment plan. I tried to talk to them then but they didnt try to work with me and told me I had to figure out a way to pay that amount or drop out. Got it figured out. Had to leave on LOA for personal reasons, then ended up getting dropped anyways, because they weren't willing to work with me as well then. Now they're just coming at me for the money owed even after I explained the mess up in the first place but they "dont see it that way". So instead of working with me, admitting that there was a mess up, and compromising, they're sending it off to collections. And I tried to call several times, several different people, nobody knows what's going on most of the time.. its a fiasco over there.. Short abbreviated version. But I will not be going there again and not recommending anyone to go there. Telling people NOT to go actually. Its a mess. Just trying to help people not get screwed...
