Mike's Country Store — Local services in Putney

This place is absolutely awesome great prices a little grocery store that has a wonderful meat market in the back. the meat market also smokes food and sells packages of smoked meat up front and it also has like a little concession stand up front also that you can buy plates of food for lunch such as a meat and some vegetables. I even went and got me a job here only lasted 3 days though due to the fact my knee swoll up and I have to get a cortisone shot now because I have knee problems it was a let-down for me because I really enjoyed the job but Paul in the back he's one of the managers for the meat market he is absolutely wonderful super cool and down-to-earth if you ever need any meat go in and see Paul. I learned a lot in the meat market with Paul he taught me alot him and an both taught me so much back there within that 3 days that I can use them tips in my everyday life of cooking thank you everyone I really appreciated the chance I'm so sorry if I let you down Digimon knee problem I had no idea that it was that bad due to the fact I haven't worked in quite a while I knew I had knee problems and just did not know it was going to swell up like that for being on my feet for so long so unfortunately me and the war with my knee.... My knee won apparently. Again I'm very sorry if I let y'all down. Y'all keep growing and doing well with this business, this is a wonderful store. And this store has wonderful people...

Was an employee in the meat market it was is great shape when I was tending to it. If you folks could see in the back you wouldn't touch the cased meat. They have a low score with the health department, too many older employees who won't take the time to make every customer feel like their needs are of importance. Packs of chicken come in everyday returned after coming in on the truck already spoiled and was told to " tray it up we cant lose money" another cool way Mike saves his money is taking all of the brown and green meat pulled for sitting to long in the case gets smoked and coated with heavy seasoning. I've had multiple different people including myself get food poisoning from old meat. Id like to know how much time and effort will be spent to improve the quality of the meat market instead of harassing an letting go hard working employees. who have young kids to sit here and provide for. But thinking it's funny to lie an let go of people for some dollar signs or a pat on the back....

"I know that giving any place a 5 Star Rating puts some folks off. However, for the folks along old Georgia 3 between Albany, Georgia...Putney,, Baconton, and all the folks heading North or South it is both an Oasis, and a place to find just about anything you might need to, eat, drink...with Love exceptions, and find courteous, friendly folks to help you find what you need.

Gas stations are near by so you can refuel easily without having to make more than two stops.

Mike's has, as he advertised, the best hand prepared meats of all varieties and folks to cut...to order...what you need.

I can not say enough Good about it. A true N of one...meaning for a market not franchised ..it is as good as I have ever used in my 78 years of life and world-wide travel.
