Puerto Rico Guided Adventure in El Yunque Rainforest
This is our most terrible experience ever. And I will say if anyone care about safety and children shouldn't join this tour. Not safe, unless you like to take care by yourself. Tour guide is useless.
Our tour guide (on 6/12), Antony, is the worst guide we ever seen. His impolite makes the tour a totally disaster. My experience with this tour guide is I feel disrespectful, irresponsible, and rude.
Our first contact with him after we arrive did not start great. My wife and I are both Taiwanese. And we have difficulty understand his accent, so ask him to repeat his instruction again and also the 3rd time, but for the 3rd time, he yelled at my wife. "Water, snack, and phone". My wife is then very depressed every time she talked to him. My daughter, who is 5 yr old, can also feels uncomfortable, even asks me why does the guide shout like that. Anyhow, this is just the beginning of the tour, so I told my wife, it is ok for you to feel uncomfortable talking to him. I will handle the rest discussion with Antony. Let's still complete the tour. However, this is really disrespectful for a tour guide to yell at the customer, not to say even in front of kids. We are so sad this guide treat us like this. Impatience, impolite, and make our kid less educational is how we feel while in the beginning.
The 2nd experience is even more terrible, our daughter is 5 years old. Safety should be the 1st priority, but I am so disappointed that the guide cannot take cate the basic thing. The hiking is a little challenge for kid (Doable, but challenging. Even though my daughter always said she like to try) . While my daughter climb on the way, sometimes I feel risky for her. I tried to be with her as I can and help her, but I can't be with her 100% of the hiking way. And this Antony just show indifference, and even just laugh without helping while my daughter is climbing some sharp route. He even did not help her, without I ask him to help my daughter. I need to say, sir, can you help this little girl, all the time to start him help her. I feel this company must lack of training how their tour guide needs to care more children. If you join this company's tour, make sure you voice out when you need help. They will not help you spontaneously.
Last thing I like to mentioned, he told all of us will receive review for the guide by text. My wife also ask him to text us after the tour. The next day, we still did not receive it. So my wife text him again, saying, please share the review to us. But that was already 5 days ago, and we still did not receive his text. I think he knows his service is terrible, and want to hide this from his manager and company. (this is another horrible mindset. Think about how many uncover bad service is hidden because the tour guide from this SpotIn hide review to the customers). Therefore, we need to feedback to Viator, trip advisor, and also google review. If you wish to participate in a safe, responsible, and well-communicate tour, then you should not choose this tour, from SpotIn, especially be careful about Antony.
I will encourage all of the customers with family and kids stay away from SpotIn. And you can choose other company not yelling at customers, and care your...
Read moreAmazing and a must see. We did the half day afternoon 2pm tour and it was perfect timing. Instead of an all day trip, we were still able to do something in the morning and a tour in the afternoon. Do not be late to the meeting point. You must be moderately fit to pull your body weight up, through and around rocks, walked up muddy extremely narrow paths at times and cross ankle and at times knee deep water. Our beautiful and amazing tour guide Hawa, made sure of our safety along the way and gave a helping hand as needed up rocks and in muddy ravines. The reward at the end was worth it all, the water slide, rope swing and cliff jump. This was unforgettable! My children were able to do it and they loved it. Here's the best TIP to ensure this is a great experience: Once you meet the guide in your OWN car in the shopping center, when he gets ready to leave, turn on your haz lights and follow closely in your own car. DO NOT STOP FOR NOTHING UNLESS THE GUIDE STOPs even at the traffic lights trust me!!🤣🤣. Its a journey down small winding roads that sometimes two cars cannot fit passing 😰😱 Pay $5 for parking, have bug spray and water. Be well hydrated! Water proof camera case. Proper footwear/sneakers, bathing suit under clothing,...
Read moreOur group of 12—ranging in age from 10 to 70—had an absolutely incredible experience on the El Yunque Wild & Scenic Rainforest Nature Walk to River Adventure during our family reunion. It can be tough to find activities that suit every generation, but this one hit the mark perfectly!
From start to finish, the tour was both accessible and exciting for all of us. The guides were phenomenal—knowledgeable, patient, and full of fascinating facts about the lush landscape, local plants, and unique terrain. Their passion for the rainforest was infectious, and even the family members who were born and raised on the island learned something new and appreciated the forest in a whole new way.
The pace was just right, and the beautiful river at the end was the perfect reward. We laughed, learned, got very wet and made memories that will last a lifetime.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a Puerto Rico native like many in our family, this experience is one we would highly recommend. A must-do adventure for families of all ages!
