I debated on reviewing this salon because it is not on the other stylists or owner. I will go ahead and review my experience that took place in October 2022. I was spoiled to get my braids done and unfortunately, my main braider was not available. I ended finding TT on Craigslist and decided to give her a chance. I reached out to her to ask questions about size and price. I specifically wanted bra length knotless or box in small or medium. I still have the texts from that day. I also mentioned that I had my own custom blended hair to use. I came in the next day at 4:30 pm. I will appreciate the hair wash as some braiders want you to come in already prepared. Great conversation too BUT I did not expect to be in the salon until after 2 am. Things came up and I stated that I could come back if need be.

I was charged MORE than what was quoted and not what I was wanting either. The braids were too long (which I texted her hours later) and not uniform. Some were the size I was good with, others were more of a large/jumbo. By it being late, I figured I would let her know later. I never received a response back and for $375, it was not worth the price. She had to sub in another color because there was not enough hair (even though I did ask how many bundles - usually 6-8 depending on size).

As a braider, I would have confirmed the style and length. The hair was there to cut and feather (I am a former licensed braider so I know what to look out for). As much as I wanted to love my braids and support, I will stick to my main braider.

I gave three stars for this reason. To the person who may respond, I do have the texts if needed and I do not wish to have a new service or anything. Just wanted to share...

Had an appointment here to have my hair highlighted, low lighted and roots done. We decided on a all over base and highlights. I brought a hair piece in that was real hair to match. After the process was finished the hair stylist decided to put in a darker lowlight. It still did not match. She told me to cone back in two weeks and she would redo the lowlights. She did not want to over process the hair. I asked her to undercut my hair to give it more volume and texture. After she finished she did not show me the back she just put my hair piece on. I tipped her $40.00. The next day I put my hair up in a clip. I was shocked. It looked terrible. All short and uneven with two long strands on each side. I went back after three weeks and was trying to be nieces I could be and told her we had a communication problem as the back was not what I expected and she told me that was undercutting. It was a mess with no smile. She redid my lowlight and there was no highlights left. I have no hair left, I don't know what kind of cut this is but it is the worst cut I had in my life. She charged me $60.00 and I gave her a $10.00 tip, I don't know why, stupidity a guess. You don't know how your hair turns out until you do it yourself. I hate my hair. No sorry or anything. $370.00 down the drain. I spent 5 hours there the first time and 3 the next. I will never go back there again. Now I am wondering why I was the only person there getting my hair done the 2nd time...

My daughter booked this shop for a round brush blowout and trim on her 4b/4c natural hair. We drove from Durham for this appointment. When we got there she was told she needed a silk press (which was $10 more) instead of a blow out because her hair is natural and thick. When she finished the appointment her hair looked nice but it was not a silk press at all. Her hair looked like just a regular blowout and they didn’t even trim off enough of her damaged ends. Her ends still felt rough and still had a lot of fairy knots on them. Thankfully, I can do hair and had shears at home already so I finished the trim later that evening. Only then were her ends in good shape. The salon completed the appointment in the time that they advertised which was great. My daughter said they were nice and considerate to her and the shampoo felt great so that’s a plus as well. I didn’t give a higher rating because the “silk press” seemed like a regular blowout and the ends were not trimmed enough. She has had a silk press before from someone else and it was much better than the results from this salon. I just think that maybe their styling tools and products weren’t quality enough for a true silk press on her hair...
