Disappointing Experience at Beck’s Furniture – Rancho Cordova
I wanted to take a few moments to share my recent experience with Beck’s Furniture & Sleep Store in Rancho Cordova following a purchase I made during their Independence Day sale.
I visited the store on July 6th, intending to buy just a bed frame. It was around noon, and the store wasn’t particularly busy. A salesperson attended to me and showed me a few options that matched my requirements. As I walked around, I also started inquiring about a coffee table, corner table, and study desk. After spending about two hours finalizing the four items, I received a delivery estimate.
However, the experience took a turn when the initial salesperson lost patience and began yelling, saying I was taking too long to decide and that they needed to assist other customers. As a paying customer with genuine intent to buy, I was shocked and deeply disappointed by this treatment. Despite this, I proceeded with the purchase, trusting the store's policies and promised delivery.
I was told that one item would arrive in two weeks, and all four items would be delivered together to avoid extra delivery fees. Due to the sale, I was also informed that no refunds or exchanges were allowed, which added to the frustration given the poor customer service I’d already experienced.
A week later, I got a call confirming the delivery date, but not the time. Then, a day before delivery, they called again and said the items would arrive between 8 AM and noon. That would have been fine, but unfortunately, my daughter had a medical emergency—she fell from the stairs and fractured her finger, and I had to take her to a doctor's appointment at 8:30 AM on the same day.
I immediately contacted customer service, explained the situation, and requested to either reschedule the delivery or move it to the afternoon. To my surprise, the representative was completely unhelpful and unwilling to listen. They told me the only option was to pay an additional $200 to reschedule—on top of the $200 delivery fee I had already paid.
Their justification was that changes must be made 72 hours in advance, which is completely unreasonable given that they only confirm delivery times a day prior. I was then transferred to a salesperson, who showed no empathy and even suggested I reschedule my daughter's medical appointment instead. Ultimately, they promised delivery at 8:15 AM sharp, and I made alternate arrangements to ensure someone was home.
Despite their promise, the delivery did not happen until after 11 AM. What if I had actually postponed the medical appointment as they suggested? The lack of accountability and care from the staff was extremely frustrating.
This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve encountered. No wonder the Beck’s Sacramento showroom closed—if this is how customers are treated, it’s not surprising.
Having worked with customers for over two decades myself, I know that respect and empathy are the foundation of good business. Without customers, there is no business. I’m sharing this not out of anger, but in the hope that Beck’s management takes this feedback seriously and improves their customer service practices.

Read moreIf I could I would put no stars. On 4/15/18 my family and I took a trip to Beck’s on Folsom Blvd to look into buying new living room furniture. We arrived about 30 minutes till close time and we shopped around and tried furniture out. We were helped by Sam, he was nice and attentive. We were going to use a family discount and were told all the managers had gone home for the day. We asked Sam for his number so we can call him the following day to ask him if the manager would approve the employee discount with the employee not being there. We have bought several items before and every time we make sure to ask if it is okay that the employee is not there, since it is on our account now and they normally give him a call. We called Sam the following day and the manager on duty on Monday was okay with doing the transaction, as long as we were there before 6 which is when a manager was no longer available. I do not get out of work till 5, so there was no way I would make it on time. We waited till Saturday 4/21/18 to take a visit and make our purchase. We found Sam once again and told him we were ready if he can call his manager for us. He said sure. We waited for about 20 minutes till we were helped by Travees the manager. He came up to us and told us we could not do the purchase if the employee was not present and that they did not do employee discounts on weekend because they were busy. The way he talked to us and looked at us was so rude, as a manager they should have more training on how to treat your customers. We explained to him that we have gone in the mayhem of black Friday shopping!!!!! Black Friday!!! We explained this to him and he did not let us finish. On our way out we ran into Sam, and told him why did he give us false information, we would have never driven 30 minutes to waste our gas and time to be treated so poorly. We in no way, shape or form disrespectful to Travees as he spoke to us even though he was a complete do*che bag towards us. Needless to say we took our business else where. No one was asking for free items or anything. We were making a huge purchase as it was and they were still going to make their money. They where not busy at all, because the gentleman standing behind us near the plant in the store was picking his nose knuckles in and everything. We went to the Beck’s on Florin Rd and were greeted by the store manager. We explained our situation and it is when we learned Travees sent out a company wide email stating that employee discounts were not allowed on weekend and the employee had to be there, that we wasted 2 hours of their time. Which was pretty funny, since all together we lasted not more than an hour at the store. We weren’t sure if it was because he was having a bad day, or because we were hispanic or what his deal was but it was completely uncalled for. The manager and employees at the Florin Road Beck’s helped us and made us feel more comfortable! Now that is where the great costumer service is at!! We bought our furniture and will be taking our business there. If you want to be treated right and taken care of, do not go to this Beck’s the employees and the manager are JOKES!!! Read moreRUN! Do NOT purchase from here. I bought a sectional and everything went well until they got our money. Come to the delivery, only 1/2 of our couch made it. the middle section was on back order. We ended up going with two single sections for our couch because we were sick of missing part of our couch. After several weeks of owning the couch the some of the cousins flattened so much that it now feels like we are sitting directly on the frame. I called and talked to Ron who is the manager of customer service.
Ron sent out a representative and assured us that our warranty would take care of stuff like this. Sure enough a guy came out and took pictures.... then I never heard anything. I had to call and follow up. Ron explained that the factory warranty results came back as "normal wear and tear" and there was nothing further he could do. I asked him over and over to dispute those findings. Ron was extremely rude and wouldn't let me finish my sentences. He then went on to say that he has disputed their findings several times. I asked for him to provide me with their results showing that he tried to dispute this several times. Over the phone he told me he would but then when I requested that information via email he said that "he could not provide internal conversations." He refused to give me the phone number to the factory warranty place so I could try calling myself. When I asked for his supervisors phone number he said "I hold the highest authority around here." He also refused to give me the owners contact information so I am so desperately hoping they see this !
Our house burnt down last April so we have been purchasing all new furniture. We had an issue with an end table from RC Willey and they came and swapped it our immediately. They were amazing. Literally GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!! If the owners reach out and make it right, I will take this down. Otherwise I will do what I have to to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else!
