My partner and I were left in a rough spot on a cross country road trip when our bus broke down in Minneapolis. Our 7.3 powerstroke needed a new high pressure oil pump and we scrambled to find a shop to do the work.

Well, the initial shop we towed it to replaced the HPOP after almost a month, but cracked our timing cover in the process and refused to make it right.

We went online and decided to find an honest mechanic with a comprehensive knowledge of 7.3s. Randy’s name came up.

Dealing with Randy vs. the initial shop was a night and day difference. He was communicative, understanding, and frankly just a downright good dude. He had the timing cover welded and our disassembled 7.3 running before scheduled so we could get back on the road.

Had the diff of my 61' 2 door fully restored chevy biscayne done here at big r's. Super happy with the service and knowledge randy gave me, had his own tow guy to come get my car safely to the shop and quickly at last minute before a car show I wanted to attend. Which probably wouldn't have happened since HE was the one to call me back after I left a message over the weekend and was booked out for 3 weeks at another trusty shop around the twin cities. But randy got it done in a snap and made multiple calls to me with multiple options. I went with the quick economical route but if I decide to upgrade to a possi-rear end. Ill be having Randy's handle it no doubt. He showed much respect to my "baby" older car!!! ...

Purchased 4 new “heavy duty” skid steer tires here and had them mounted. Unfortunately after 4 months of dealing with flat tires, I took the tire to a local shop who noted that the tire bead had broke causing it not to seal. When I took the tire back to Big Rs, Randy stated that the bead head broke because “I let it run flat” and he refused to take it back or even offer me a discount on another one. I tried to explain that they mounted the tires thus it was either there labor issue or their broken tire that caused the issue, but they thought the rims were the issue.

Needless to say I did not purchase the next tire from him
