MOUNT JOY GIFT & THRIFT is one of my 💜 favorite places to go!
You never know from day to day as to what they might have. The reason for that is because it is a THRIFT store, so it all depends on what 👨👩👧👧people may have donated.
"Mount Joy Gift & Thrift" has just recently moved. After years of being on Main Street in Mt Joy besides Weis Market, they are now across from "The Country Store" right outside of town. Their NEW location is HUGE!
I took LOTS of pictures and will include them for you.
When I donate my own things, I usually always take them to Gift & Thrift. They are a Christian run business, with mostly volunteers working there. Almost all proceeds go towards their mission of helping people in need throughout the USA and worldwide when disasters strike!
The only thing that I was hoping for since they moved to the larger store was that they would sell some furniture. Unfortunately, they still do not.
Their prices have always been excellent compared to Goodwill, etc. However, I have seen price increases since they have moved to the new location. But that is to be expected.
So when you have a chance, check them out. I can almost guarantee that you will not leave there...

My confused response of "garbage??" did not satisfy her, and she continued to lecture me in a raised voice about how I wasn't allowed to use their trash can. The verbal harangue lasted several minutes and made a huge scene in front of a line of people who were waiting to check out. I asked what she wanted me to do, climb in there and dig it out? She continued on. I had had enough so I just said I wouldn't be spending any money there ever again, and walked out. It was absurd, embarrassing, and the rudest thing I have ever endured. I'll...
Read moreThings have drastically changed at Mount Joy Gift & Thrift. Long-time faithful employees have been ruthlessly fired, volunteers are quitting, donations are declining and the new corporate owners are relentlessly pursuing worldly corporate values. For many years I loved shopping there and donated many carloads of household items - - but sadly no more. This is the way Christian ministries wither and die: by adopting the world's methods and forgetting kindness, gentleness, loving relationships, and godly values. I have found a new place to shop and donate my stuff that aligns with my values: Worthwhile Wear in Collegeville, a Christian organization that helps trafficked women to turn their lives around. Christian values guide their...
